When activated, '''Legacy''' will replace any enemy with a legacy variant into that variant. This, however, only applies to enemies which have an identically named enemy in the legacy category, and they will be replaced regardless if they are even meant to be the same enemy or not. For example, the modern [[Fallen Soul]] will be replaced by the legacy [[Fallen Soul (Legacy)|Fallen Soul]], even though these two are very different from each other in functionality, visually and in purpose, meanwhile the [[Hazmat]] will not be replaced by the [[Hazard]], despite the [[Hazmat]] being the replacement for it.

This modifier also allows certain abilities to work as intended. For example, without the '''Legacy''' modifier, the [[Void Reaver (Legacy)|Void Reaver]]'s ''Void Slam'' will not summon regular [[Soul]]s. However with the modifier active, it will spawn [[Soul]]s from hit towers as expected. This is because in [[Sandbox Mode|Sandbox]] mode, legacy enemies who normally summon legacy enemies will, by default, attempt to summon in a modern version of that default by force, even if a modern version does not exist or only exists without proper models. This means the enemy will be summoned and sometimes will even use its abilities, but it has no model. Having '''Legacy''' active prevents this from happening.
