==Description==
The '''Area 51 Event''' was the second event to be added to Tower Defense Simulator. It involved players beating the [[Area 51]] [[Maps|map]] for the exclusive [[Commando]] tower. All the enemies in this event were exclusive. This was the first Roblox-sponsored event as it was part of [[w:c:roblox:Developer Events|Developer Events]] (or ''This Week on ROBLOX'').

The event started on the 9th of August 2019 and was ran while the [[SFOTH Event]] was ongoing. The event was supposed to end on the 20th of September 2019 but instead ended on the 13th of October 2019 because of an update delay. However, you could not earn the [[Commando]] after the 20th of September 2019.

*The event was the first Roblox-sponsored event.
*This event was a reference to the Facebook event ''Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us'' where people should have, on the 20th of September 2019, storm the ''Nevada Test and Training Range''.
**This event soon went viral and became an internet sensation within a week.
*The event was supposed to be much harder. However, as it was sponsored by Roblox, the event was made easier due to the influx of new players.
*The badge you get for beating this event is called ''Summer 2019 Event'' instead of ''Area 51 Event''.
**This was a retroactive name; the original name was ''Obtained Commando''.
*This event and the [[SFOTH Event]] were the first pair of events which were playable at the same time, the second being the [[Frost Invasion Event]] and the [[Metaverse Champions Event]], and the third being the [[Hexscape Event]] and the [[Tower Defense Simulator x PLS DONATE Event]].
