Platinum Crate has been removed from the game as of the 29th of October 2020.
Platinum Crate may still exist in the game's code, though it is no longer officially used in-game. This page has been preserved for historical purposes.

Description

The Platinum Skincrate was a removed skincrate that could have been obtained by triumphing 5 maps on the four difficulties (Beginners, Molten, Golden and Fallen). You did not need to have a perfect run throughout those rounds to contribute on getting the Platinum Skincrate, meaning that you could take damage in base health. You could also complete maps in MEGA Servers. The maps in question must have been beaten on all difficulties after the 8th of December 2019. For this reason, some maps with all four medals would not count to the Platinum Skincrate yet. Maps that you completed would have a star next to them. This did not include maps that were counted for a previous Platinum Skincrate, if you had claimed one before. Your medals would still remain when you claimed a Platinum Skincrate, making it difficult to keep track of what maps you needed to do to get the next Platinum Skincrate.

After you claimed a Platinum Skincrate, all previous medals earned on all maps no longer counted towards another Platinum Skincrate, even if they did not contribute to a previously earned Platinum Skincrate. This meant that you had to repeat all the medals that you have earned, if you wanted to earn another Platinum Skincrate, even if the map showed that you have earned all medals. However, you could repeat maps that had previously counted for a different Platinum Skincrate.

Like the Golden Skincrate, the Platinum Skincrate gave buffs to towers, although these buffs were slightly lower. However, the skincrates were effectively free since you did not need to use coins to buy this skincrate.

The Platinum Skincrate was similar in design to the original Golden Skincrate, with the exception that it was colored in sirocco rather than yellow.

Trivia

• The Platinum Skincrate was removed for unknown reasons, presumably for being redundant and buggy to obtain.
  • If you had any unused Platinum Skincrates, they were converted into Premium Skincrates on the 29th of October 2020.
  • If you had any Platinum skins, they were not refunded or transferred over.
    • Due to a glitch, the Platinum Crook Boss remained in the game for a while, yet the skin still provided its buffs.
      • However, the skin was disabled on the 23rd of November 2020, where it would instead be seen but cannot be placed.
• The Platinum Skincrate was originally planned to use the same skincrate opening music as the Premium Skincrate.
  • This, however, was scrapped as the Platinum Skincrate was removed before the skincrate music was applied.
• The Platinum Skincrate was originally supposed to be renamed to the Silver Skincrate, and its skins would be renamed to Silver skins.
  • However, this has been scrapped for unknown reasons.
    • The Platinum Skincrate would also have similar appearance to the Golden Skincrate, just different colors.
