Short Maps are maps that have an incredibly short path. In most cases, this makes the map incredibly difficult, with some of these maps being regarded as the hardest in the game.

On the wiki, these are maps which, for an enemy with a speed of 3.5, take anywhere from 0 seconds to 36 seconds to get to the exit.
