It has an extremely long path, with an average amount of cliff spaces spread across the map. ==Design & Path== {{Tabber |Current |Crystal Cave takes place in an underground mine. Long crystals protrude from the ground and ceiling, coming in bunches. The colors vary based on the crystals location in the map. Stalactites and pillars can also be found here. Multiple crates are scattered across the map There is also a wooden house near the start of the map, with a pickaxe on its porch. The middle of the map has a magma stream with a bridge over it. The path itself is a winding railroad track that starts at one cave and ends at another. The enemy spawn is closed to the red crystals, while the exit is close to the green crystals. |Version 2 |The second version of Crystal Cave took place underground in a cave with colorful crystals dotted around the map, as the name suggested. Multiple cliffs with grass could be spotted across the map. There were multiple wooden houses on these cliffs, with some having wooden crates next to them. There was a pool of magma in the middle of the map, with a wooden bridge over it. The columns on the wooden bridge were burning because of the magma. Multiple stalactites could be seen on the roof of the cave. The path began and ended at a cave entrance. |Version 1 |Crystal Cave took place underground in a cave with colorful crystals dotted around the map, as the name suggested. Several torches were also dotted around the map. As is the nature of caves, some cave walls reached the roof of the map, while other were low enough that cliff towers could be placed on them. Near the entrance of the cave, some over-ground features could be seen outside the cave, like grass hills and trees. The cave was effectively split into two, as it had two distinct ridges with a wooden bridge spanning a large pool of magma, meaning you could not place towers near the middle of the path. A magma-fall could be seen. The grey path began at the entrance of the cave and ended at a hole in the cave on the back of the map. The path went over the wooden bridge before it curved round a large rock. }} ==Interactive Map== ==Rewards== The game calculates how many Coins, Gems and you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more (Friday β Sunday), any earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map. Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal. ==Strategy== *Towers are likely to be spread out due to the expanse of the map. This will reduce the amount of towers in the Commander's range. **Multiple Commanders may be required to boost every tower. **The DJ Booth can also help remedy this problem. *As the map is quite large, long-range towers are recommended. **This helps you attack enemies near the middle of the map, where short-range towers cannot reach. *Because of the magma and other map formations preventing tower placement, locating towers requires some planning. ==Gallery== {{Gallery| Map Icons <gallery> CrystalCave.png|First version (29 June 2019 β 13 October 2019) GI logo.png|Bugged icon<ref>On the 7th of March 2022, Crystal Cave was accidentally added. However, players could not leave the vicinity of the cave due to invisible walls surrounding the cave. **There was a larger grey baseplate beneath the outside baseplate. *During the developmental of the first version of Crystal Cave, it had two easter eggs which were linked to Minecraft. **The first was a Creeper Head, and the second was a Diamond Pickaxe. However, these easter eggs were removed before Crystal Cave was released. *On the 7th of March 2022, this map, alongside Wrecked Battlefield, Grass Isle and Sacred Mountains were accidentally left as the only survival maps in the game. It, alongside Grass Isle, were the only playable survival maps. **The Crystal Cave used the Grass Isle icon and difficulty on the elevator. **The profile card for Crystal Cave would use a sprite of Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin. ***This would later be changed on 12th of March 2022, so that the profile card uses an image of the map instead. ***The sprite could have also been seen whenever Crystal Cave was in Matchmaking rotation prior to the 21st of November 2022. **This, with the exception of the profile card, was later fixed on the same day. *In the update log of the Entity System Update, Crystal Cave is called Crystal Cavern. *The magma that the second version of this map was meant to have was removed for being too bright. Instead, water, colored orange, appears instead. **On the 7th of March 2022, this water appeared as blue. ==Update History== ==Notes== <references/> MapNavBox
