―??? on Wave 41 of Fallen mode (Hidden Wave)

Description

???, internally referred to as Unknown, is the main narrator of the Hidden Wave.

While its identity is not revealed in-game, it did appear in Failed Gateway on the other side of the portal, sitting on a throne in the Nil Zone. The exact character model was also called Lord Exo by the Narrator in the Lunar Overture Event's scrapped final map cutscenes and in The Classic Event's trailer. Multiple maps also use the same appearance, such as a sign in Pier Pressure.

Appearance

??? has a completely black body. Its torso is translucent, revealing its ribcage. It wears a black domino crown. While not that clear from just the Hidden Wave, ??? is actually a silhouette, as the original character actually has a purple torso.

Trivia

• The ??? narrator uses a similar model as the 1x1x1x1 from The Classic Event, except that it has a completely black body and a different ribcage.
  • However, these two narrators are not the same character. Rather, ??? is assumed to be Lord Exo due to its similar characteristics with one of Lord Exo's appearances (the model shown in Failed Gateway), though this is not entirely confirmed.
• Unlike other narrators, ??? refers to the player as just "player".
  • While other characters do talk to the player or even mention in-game mechanics, they treat the player as a member of the T.D.S. Organization in most cases, with some exceptions like the Refund Center.
