Description

[edit]

Pier Pressure is a normal map that can be played in the survival modes. It was made by Your_Adversary and is medium in length.

Design & Path

[edit]

Pier Pressure takes place at a pier located in a city. The pier itself has a carnival, which contains various attractions like a Ferris wheel, drop tower, bouncing house and carousel. Multiple stores, benches, trash cans and tables can be found. There are also a few advertisements, some of which contain images showcasing other maps. At the back of the carnival, there is a large building with a parking lot, which has multiple Police vehicles, ambulances and other cars parked there. The whole carnival is blocked by a barricade, cutting off the access to the colorful city.

The path begins at the entrance of the large building, which has multiple purple vines coming out of it, and ends at a yellow portal. The path itself is formed in the shape of a plus sign. It avoids various buildings placed on the pier.

Rewards

[edit]

The game calculates how many Coin Coins, Gem Gems and Experience EXP you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Experience EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular Experience EXP boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Difficulty reward scaling for survival mode Coins and Exp is 1x.
Mode Coins/Gem Reward EXP Reward
Easy Coin 250 ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 50 (Triumph Only) Experience 50 EXP ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])
Casual Coin 350 ÷ (1 + [(30 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only) Experience 75 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) + Experience 15 EXP (Triumph Only)
Intermediate Coin 500 ÷ (1 + [(30 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only) Experience 120 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])

Strategy

[edit]
  • Due to Pier Pressure's sharp, rigid turns, Melee towers such as the Warden, Slasher and Assassin will serve quite an effective use.
  • Due to the 180 degree full turn this map takes in order to face the exit, towers with long range such as the Ranger, Mortar, and Sniper will be able to almost constantly keep enemies in their range, this helps for enemies that have a fast walkspeed such as the Fallen Tank, Molten Mech and Necrotic Skeleton.

Trivia

[edit]
  • The name of this map is a pun on the term "peer pressure".
  • The map is inspired by the Navy Pier, also known as the Chicago Pier. It is a pier on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, located in the Near North Side community area in Chicago, Illinois.
    • The main building and the Ferris wheel on this map is also based on the pier's main building and the Navy Pier wheel.
  • Pier Pressure contains various advertisements on the ground which are either blank or reference other maps made by Your_Adversary.
    • The ad with the buildings references Cyber City, as that map contains various tall buildings and a pair of eyeballs watching over the map.
    • The yellow body is Gilded Path, as the entity shown on the ad is the corpse of the Gold Titan.
    • The lighthouse is Lighthaos, the lighthouse seen on the ad is the same as the one present on that map.
    • The single eyed beast is an ad for Petulance Ground, an unreleased map. The object shown on the ad specifically is the various cliffs present on the map.
    • The brown wooden bridge is Dusty Bridges, as the bridges in that map are held by red ribbons.
      • At the time of Pier Pressure release, this was not known, as the updated map had not been teased.
    • The last advertisement, a black realm with a single enemy that looks somewhat like the Withered is a reference to a map that has not been made public yet.
  • One of the signs for the stores features Lord Exo on it.
