Description

The Golden Crate is a crate that grants one of seven Golden skins which come with a Golden Perk. It costs a colossal Coin 50,000, the single most expensive crate and item you can buy in the game with coins. Golden Perks make towers much stronger, but usually more expensive as well.

Each skin in this crate can appear in the daily skin store. Uniquely, unlike all other crates, each skin in this crate has its own cost. The Golden Soldier skin costs Coin 50,000, the Golden Scout, Golden Demoman and Golden Crook Boss skins cost Coin 55,000, the Golden Pyromancer costs Coin 65,000, the Golden Cowboy costs Coin 70,000 and the Golden Minigunner costs Coin 75,000

Trivia

• The current design of the Golden Crate is likely based on the Nantonium Strongbox from SAS: Zombie Assault 4.
• The Golden Crate is currently the only item in the game that gives a buff to a tower outside of Consumables and support Towers.
  • The only other item to do this was the Platinum Crate, which was the same thing as the Golden Crate, but easier to get.
• The Golden Crate uniquely shortens the name of the Pyromancer to Pyro in its inventory description.
• All towers from this crate have a unique sound when placed. Other unique placement sounds of skins override this sound however.
