Skin Trivia

[edit]
  • The Minigunner currently has the second most skins for a tower, the first being Commander with 39 skins.
  • The Minigunner is the most used tower on the game images and videos, such as thumbnails or trailers.
  • Prior to the 8th of August 2019, the Level 5 upgrade was a jetpack. Functionally, it performed the same as any other ground tower.
    • Despite being a flying tower, the hitbox of the Minigunner did not change with the jetpack. They could still be stunned by rocks from Tanks and shockwaves from the Gravekeeper.
  • Some of the features of the Minigunner were inspired by R2DA and R2D.
    • The Vulcan M61 Gatling Gun used by most skins of the Minigunner was first popularized by R2D's Minigun.
    • The original Wraith skin held the P90 from R2DA.
    • At Level 5, the original Heavy skin held two M249s from R2DA.
  • Older Golden skin appearances are heavily inspired by the appearance of Golden Commando from Tower Battles.
  • Before the 13th of October 2019, when the Minigunner was Level 2 or higher, its face changed from the Roblox default face to the Grr! face, despite the fact that the upgrade icons kept the Roblox default face.
  • The concept for the original version of the Black Ops skin was based on a concept made by Firedolphin2211.
  • Originally, the Level 5 Pumpkin skin eyes were glitched, meaning that they did not move with the Minigunner.
  • The Level 5 Toy minigun is based on the Dart Zone Scorpion blaster.
  • The Toy skin was based on the Army men plastic soldiers.
  • The Level 0-3 minigun used by the Golden skin is similar to the Brass Beast from Team Fortress 2.
  • The older versions of level Level 4 Toy, Twitter and Community skin armor is similar to the one used in the Halo series.
  • Due to the high reflectance of the Level 4 Frost skin's visor, it changes colour depending on the skybox.
  • Prior to the 17th of April 2022, the Level 4 upgrade for the Golden Minigunner was broken, as the stand for the minigun would not move with the minigun itself.
  • The Level 3-4 double-barreled Vulcan M61 that is held by the current Minigunner looks similar to the Candy Cane Miniguns from Arsenal.
  • The Heavy skin is based on various Power Armors from the Fallout series.
  • The Space Elite skin may draw inspiration from the Space Marines of Warhammer 40k, bearing resemblances to the Red Talons chapter.
  • The Community skin from level 1-4 resembles the Discord mascot Wumpus.
  • The Pumpkin skin currently has the most ways to obtain it; from the Halloween 2019 Crate, the Pumpkin Crate and the Halloween Crate, although you can only get it from the latter as of the Lunar Overture Event if you do not have old crates in your inventory.
  • The Level 4 Warlord minigun skin is similar to the Huo-Long Heater from Team Fortress 2.
  • The Level 0-3 Golden skin uses an animation that most other skins use at Level 4, most likely to show its superiority as it is the skin for the Golden Minigunner perk.
  • The Level 4 Xmas skin heavily resembles the RX-78-2 Gundam.
  • The Sweaking skin is based on ItzSweaking.
    • The Sweaking skin's minigun is loosely based on the control rod used by Utsuho Reiuji from Touhou Project.
  • The appearance of the reworked Default skin for the Minigunner appears to have been based on the Plushie skin's appearance, with the skin predating the rework.
    • This is may be the case because of the Minigunner rework being planned months before it was actually added, which is supported by the Ducky skin using its current Level 4 minigun in the Duck Hunt Update thumbnail instead of the dual laser minigun and the matchmaking statue having a different Default skin model than the actual Default skin, reusing the Ducky skin's assets.
  • The Minigunner was expected to get a King skin for those who had bought VIP, though it has yet to be added in.
  • Upon release Bunny skin used the same placement sound as the Xmas Minigunner skin.
  • The Gardener skin's gatling guns are a reference to various plants in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise.
    • The Level 0-1 gatling gun is based on the Peashooter.
    • The Level 2-4 gatling gun is based on the Gatling Pea.

Roblox Catalog

[edit]
  • A retextured version of the Elite Space Trooper is used by some skins at Level 4, and previously, Level 5.
  • The Level 4 paintball helmet that was present on some Minigunner skins was a re-textured version of the Deluxe Paintball Helmet accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The Level 0-3 Pumpkin head is similar to the Sinister P. accessory from the Roblox catalog.
    • The Level 4 head is similar to the Sinister M. accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The minigun wielded by the version 1 and 2 Xmas skin is the Candy Cane Launcher limited item from the Roblox catalog.
  • The version 1 and 2 Level 5 Black Ops paintball mask is the Black Paintball Mask accessory from the Roblox catalog.
    • The version 1 and 2 Level 5 Black Ops beret is a re-textured version of the Redwood Prison Green Beret accessory from the Roblox catalog.
    • The Level 2-3 Black Ops goggles are the Spy Vision 7500 accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The Level 2-4 Wraith goggles are a re-textured version of the Laser Spec Special Forces Goggles accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The version 1 and 2 Level 5 Twitter skin cap is a re-textured version of the Green Military Winter Cap, but with a twitter logo instead of a paradoxum logo.
    • This accessory was added way after the Twitter skin was added.
    • The Level 4 helmet used by these skins is a re-textured version of the Juggernaut's Helmet accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The Level 4 helmet used by the Hazmat is a re-textured version of the The Bug Stomper accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The Level 3-4 skull shoulder pads used by the Pumpkin skin are the The Riddling Skull accessory from the Roblox catalog.
