Description
The Executioner is a ranged ground tower that was unlocked by triumphing Totality Tower. It could have also been obtained through a gamepass for
750 during the Solar Eclipse Event. The Executioner's most recent sale has it require
799 to purchase.
The Executioner attacks by throwing its axe at an enemy, hitting the enemy and bouncing to other enemies. If there is only one enemy in its range, the axe will simply deal damage once. For cases of there being two or more enemies, it will bounce between a specific number of max targets for a specific number of times. For instance, with a max bounce statistic of 15, it will bounce 15 times, however, due to its max targets statistic being 5 in this scenario, it will only bounce 15 times between 5 enemies. With each hit, the axe will boost its damage by a specific number.
The Executioner will with each throw start a small windup before throwing, which is followed by the axe flying between enemies. This has a max flight time of 0.4 for each target. Once it has hit the last enemy, it will take a max of 0.55 seconds to return to the tower, making the Executioner catch it for 0.1 seconds. Once the axe has been caught, the proper firerate will begin.
The Executioner's high damage and ability to damage multiple enemies makes it a great tower for area of effect. However, it is very weak against singular enemies, with its DPS being significantly reduced if there is just one enemy in its range. The Executioner has hidden detection at Level 3 and flying detection at Level 0.
The Executioner has a placement limit of 9 per player.

Strategy
- Because of how the Executioner works, it is strictly an AOE tower, requiring at least two enemies to properly reach its full potential.
- Using it on a single enemy will result in extremely low DPS due to the axe not being able to bounce on one enemy. This makes the Executioner a horrible choice for any single target enemies.
- Each hit of the Executioner's axe can trigger a firework from the Firework Technician.
- Since usually the axe will be hitting multiple times, it will drastically increase the odds of getting a firework by sheer quantity, which will also greatly increase the Executioner's damage output.
- Due to the Executioner's ability to damage multiple enemies, this can be used as a great tower to clear out hordes of weaker enemies and even minor bosses at Level 5.
- The Executioner gains hidden detection at Level 3, however because of how expensive it is to upgrade it to that level, it is recommended to bring other towers with cheap hidden detection.
- Later on in the game, the Executioner can deal with hordes of high health hidden enemies, like the Soul and Elite Phantom.
- Although the axe itself may travel through them, the axe will only end up damaging the enemy it bounced to, meaning it cannot be used to indirectly kill such enemies.
- The Executioner can do well against enemies that summon other enemies on death, like the Mystery, as it can both damage the Mystery and the enemy it spawned if you are lucky enough.
- The Executioner can detect flying enemies, making it useful in Hardcore mode against enemies like the Void Floater and in Pizza Party against Balloon Kids.
- However, the Executioner cannot damage Lead enemies.
- Towers that can slow down enemies, like the Electroshocker, Toxic Gunner or Sledger are very useful with the Executioner, as they let enemies stay in its range for longer and helping to make sure there are more than one enemy in its range at once.
- Range boosting towers like the DJ Booth can also be useful for this.
- Due to the Executioner only having its firerate start once it has caught its axe, which will only start once the windup ends, then the axe stops travelling and is caught. This results in the Executioner being very ineffective with Firerate Buffs.
- Damage Buff however are very effective with it, as not only will they boost the damage itself but also how much damage is increased per hit. For instance, a 20% Damage Buff will boost the damage itself from 50 to 60 and the added damage from 15 to 18 at Level 5.
Trivia
- The Executioner is the second ground tower that can detect flying enemies, with the first being the Hunter.
- The Executioner may originally have based been on the Executioner card from Clash Royale and the Boomerang Thrower from the Bloons Tower Defense game series.
- The former store description of the Executioner is a reference to the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise.
- The Executioner's flying detection may have also been based on the Executioner card's ability to attack air troops.
- The Executioner has a love for rodents, specifically guinea pigs, rats, and hamsters, as revealed by his concept artist, @tyronedag0at on X.[5]

Notes
- ↑ Through axe bouncing and piercing, the Executioner may indirectly hit hidden enemies, but this tower cannot directly target hidden enemies until Level 3.
- ↑ The firerate assumes that the axe returns on time.
- ↑ DPS assumes that only one enemy is hit per throw and also assumes that the axe takes the longest time possible to return and move between targets.
DPS is calculated as Damage ÷ (Firerate + Windup + Catch Time + Max Flight Time + Max Return Time) - ↑ DPS assumes that it can hit as many times as its Bounces stat, bouncing among up to Max Targets enemies, and that the axe takes the longest time possible to return and move between targets.
Throw damage is the series Damage, Damage + Added Damage, … for Bounces hits.
DPS is calculated as (Bounces × (2 × Damage + (Bounces − 1) × Added Damage) ÷ 2) ÷ (Firerate + Windup + Catch Time + Max Flight Time × Bounces + Max Return Time) - ↑ https://x.com/tyronedag0at_/status/2103784994493944072
