Description

[edit]

The Railgun Tank is the fifth and final vehicle that spawns from the Military Base, spawning when the Military Base is at Level 5. It can also be spawned by the War Machine when it uses its Convoy Ability. As with other units, it starts from the end of the map path and moves towards the entrance of the map. The Railgun Tank has a spawnrate of 35 seconds.

Like the Tank, the Railgun Tank has a gun that can deal damage to enemies. Additionally, the Railgun Tank has a pulse cannon that can be used to deal splash damage to enemies. These can detect hidden enemies, but not flying enemies. The cannon can damage lead enemies, but the Tank's gun cannot.

There is a limit of three units per Military Base, limiting the amount of Railgun Tanks that can spawn. However, this should generally not be an issue, due to how hard it is to reach this limit.

Appearance

[edit]

The current version of the Railgun Tank is a AbramsX tank with blue accents and multiple neon blue lights. It has a pulse cannon mounted on it. Its caterpillar tracks are covered by armor. There are two antennas on the back of the vehicle. There is a mounted machine gun on the top of the tank.

Strategy

[edit]
  • The Railgun Tank is great for hordes with high health enemies, like the Slow Boss, Speedy Boss and Molten Golem.
    • The Railgun Tank even fares quite well against other high health enemies that certain towers struggle against, like the Fallen Tank and Fallen Guardian.
    • The Railgun Tank cannot be stunned, so it is quite useful against major bosses, like the Fallen King.
      • However, the Railgun Tank can be damaged by abilities that damage units, like the Warden.
        • It is left severely weakened by some enemies (like the Brute) and is completely destroyed by others (like the Void Reaver).
  • On two-pathed maps, only one Railgun Tank will spawn per Level 5 Military Base. It will go down a random path.
  • The Railgun Tank can deal full collision damage to enemies with defense, like the Bulwark and Warden.
    • Its cannon and explosion upon destruction can also deal full damage to enemies with defense.
    • While the Railgun Tank can deal full collision damage to enemies with defense, the damage from its gun is decreased.
  • The Railgun Tank's splash damage (through its cannon or upon its destruction) cannot damage enemies that are immune to splash damage, like the Wraith.
    • However, the Railgun Tank can still deal collision damage, as well as gun damage, against these enemies as long as they are detectable or collidable.
  • The Railgun Tank's gun and cannon can detect hidden enemies, but they cannot detect flying enemies.
    • Flying enemies can still be hit indirectly through its explosions.
    • The Railgun Tank cannot collide with ghost enemies, like the Soul.
  • The Railgun Tank is not affected by any buff or debuff.

Trivia

[edit]
  • The first version of the Railgun Tank appears as the Military Base Level 5 upgrade icon.
  • Although the Railgun Tank's beam from its pulse cannon is an electrical beam similar to the Electroshocker, it does not stun enemies.
  • The Railgun Tank is the first unit to be spawned by more than one tower, those being the Military Base and War Machine.
