Description

The Void Floater is a Flying enemy that appeared in Hardcore mode and Voidcore mode. It is serves as a stronger Balloon for later waves of these modes. When it loses the Shield Health, the pod that the Void Floater has with it breaks, causing it to fall down to the ground. This makes it lose the the Flying attribute, making it vulnerable to towers without flying detection, and also multiplies its speed by 0.675, reducing its speed down to 2.7.

Logbook Description

"To take care of a ‘Pod’ is to take care of a child. It needs to be nurtured from start to forever. Vast amounts of Void energy are crammed into these floating pods that are so proudly held overhead by the Void Floater. They are extremely passionate about taking care of it. Once the Pod is destroyed, it will fall to the ground and the Void Floater experiences something like agony, as it is the equivalent of losing their child."

Appearance

The Void Floater has glowing purple skin. It wears a black and purple robe, purple pants, purple belt and black shoes. It had a glowing purple pod overhead which it uses to float above the path. This pod appears to be a purple opaque team beacon from the classic game Crossroads. Once it loses all of its Shield Health, the pod will break, causing it to fall to the ground.

Strategy

  • The Void Floater is one of the most dangerous enemies in the modes it appears in, with high health, the Flying attribute, and often appears in large groups. As such, high DPS towers with flying detection like the Ranger and Pursuit are required to deal with it.
    • Early on, the Engineer can handle Void Floaters somewhat consistently, though it is not recommended to completely depend on it.
    • AOE damage from towers like the Tesla and Mortar is recommended against large groups of Void Floaters.
    • The Firework Technician can provide flying detection to nearby towers to help against the Void Floater.
      • Note that the detection duration lasts for a rather short interval.
  • As the Void Floater has Stun Immune, stun effects from towers such as Tesla are ineffective against it.
