Void Keeper

- Be careful! We're not sure how much it can do, but it's half the reason why so many enemies are heading in your direction!
- ―Professor V on Wave 36 (Hardcore)

Description
The Void Keeper, internally referred to as Void Grave Digger, is a mini-boss that appears in both the Hardcore and Voidcore modes. It has a high amount of health and a decent fast speed, especially when combined with two of its abilities which either permanently or temporarily boost its speed.
The Void Keeper has four abilities:
- The first ability, Shovel, has the Void Keeper digging up rocks from the ground, then flinging them at towers or units in a range of 20. Any tower hit by these rocks will get stunned for 4 seconds while units receive 150 damage.
- The second ability, Summon, makes the Void Keeper point its shovel into the air, temporarily giving it No Target. This makes purple lightning hit it, causing various enemies to start spawning for 4 seconds. These can be the Voidling (6% chance, 0.55 delay), Elite Lead (32% chance, 0.125 delay) or Mandrake (62% chance, 0.125 delay). Afterwards it receives around a 25% speed boost for 16 seconds.
- The third ability is Stomp. When performed, the Void Keeper will stomp the ground, creating a shockwave that stuns towers for 3 seconds and deals 150 damage to units.
- The last ability is a rage mode type ability, the Wayfarer, triggered when it reaches 25% of its health. Once reached, it will boost its speed to 3.5.
Logbook Description
"The Void Keeper is a specialized variant of Slow King who wallowed in the depths of their agony and decided they had to take on the task of burying their kingdom. After a realm collapse, the Void Keeper will quietly carry the dead and bury them. Some of the corpses will turn into food for the flora while others will either reanimate into Odds or decompose into skeletons. It is not known how the Void Keeper feels about this, but to this day it still quietly shovels away grave after grave."
Appearance
The Void Keeper has a black body and purple eyes. It wears a purple coat with a hood, purple pants, black shoes, brown belts and multiple brown bandages. Its body is overgrown in various plants and flowers. On its left shoulder, it has a skull shoulder-pad while on its right, it has a regular purple shoulder-pad. It has a cracked purple tombstone attached to its right arm. On its back, it has a giant tombstone which is attached to its with a set of chains. It carries a shovel with its right arm.
Strategy
- High DPS towers such as the Crook Boss, Juggernaut and Turret are required to deal with the Void Keeper.
- The Engineer is recommended against the Void Keeper, with its sentries bypassing the Void Keeper's stuns and handling the large hordes that both spawn from and alongside it.
- In Voidcore mode, the Void Keeper is spawned alongside the Void Brute and a large group of enemies. Bringing splash damage towers like the Mortar and Rocketeer is recommended.
- During the Void Keeper's Summon ability, it gains the No Target attribute, preventing it from being attacked normally. As such, towers will be forced to to target its summons.
- The Medic can be used to negate the Void Keeper's stuns, allowing for the Void Keeper to be killed before other enemies arrive to support it. Alternatively, stun immune towers like the Pursuit can be used instead.
- Once the Void Keeper activates its Wayfarer ability, it becomes significantly faster. As such, bringing high range towers like the Ranger and Turret can prevent it from exiting the range of your towers.
- The Void Keeper has no direct immunities other than those that come with the Boss attribute, so most freeze towers can help slow it down. Due to its size and the Boss attribute, stuns will only slow it down.

Trivia
- The Void Keeper's appearance and abilities are based on the Grave Digger enemy.
- Internally, it is also called the Void Grave Digger and was referred to as the Voidgraver by BelowNatural when first announced.[1]
- Its current name is likely a reference to the Gravekeeper enemy that existed before the MEGA Update.
- Despite all of these similarities, the Void Keeper is actually just a variant of the Slow King that decided they had to bury their kingdom.
- The concept art of the Void Keeper was created by @DaddyDonuts.
- The Void Keeper is unaffected by enemy appearance modifiers, such as Talk Like a Pirate Day.
