Be on your guard--I can bet that there's more to their stradegy than what we can see. - ―Commander dialogue on Wave 9 (Korblox Temple)
Description
The Fallen Necromancer is a summoner enemy that appears in Fallen, Fallen Arena PVP modes and The Takeover Event. It has high health but has a speed slightly slower than the Fallen Squire. It has an ability where it slams its staff, summoning eight Fallen Skeletons.
Logbook Description
"Fallen Necromancers were priests who used to tend to the dead, ensuring peaceful passage to the afterlife. When the Queen's sacrifice destroyed the boundary between life and death, they gained the power to raise the fallen. The curse allowed them to cast dark rituals that bind souls to corpses. Now, they are protected by the very dead they once laid to rest."
Appearance
The Fallen Necromancer has no legs and greyish skin. It has a silver crown that has a blue shard in the middle and silver horns. It has a tiger skull with horns on each shoulder, possibly serving as shoulder pads. It wears a grey scarf and a necklace with possibly shark teeth on it, and a blue crystal. Its arms have bluish-grey arm plates, bandages and metal. It has a grey chest-plate. It also wears a belt.
It wields a grey staff with a skull at the top, and holds it over its shoulder while walking. It slams the staff to the ground and conjures purple smoke when using its Summon ability.
It has a death animation where it spins while falling to the ground, dropping its staff.
Strategy
- The Fallen Necromancer can be a threat when it first appears, as it can summon many Fallen Skeletons if not killed quickly, creating hordes, especially in groups.
- Early game towers like the Militant, Golden Cowboy, Ace Pilot, Brawler or Golden Scout can take care of the Fallen Necromancer quite quickly.
- High DPS towers like the Turret, Minigunner, Hunter and Accelerator can also be quite useful.
- Do note that the Accelerator, if locked onto the Fallen Necromancer or other strong enemies, will ignore the Fallen Skeletons the Fallen Necromancer summons until the targeted enemy is defeated or leaves its range.
- The Ranger may struggle against the hordes of Fallen Skeletons the Fallen Necromancer summons due to its slow firerate. It can be set to Strongest to target and kill the Fallen Necromancer while other towers take care of the Fallen Skeletons.
- Area of effect towers, like the Mortar, Rocketeer and Tesla can be quite useful as they can damage both the Fallen Necromancer and the Fallen Skeletons it summons.
- Do note that you do not earn any money from the summoned enemies.
- The Fallen Necromancer and its Fallen Skeletons move at a somewhat fast pace. You may want to use slowing towers like the Freezer, Warden or Tesla, though this is not necessary.
- Do note that because of its Stun Immunity, it is only slowed down by stuns and cannot be knocked back. Additionally, when it first spawns, it is a boss enemy, making chillness and stun slowdown the only forms of stalling that can slow it down.
- Stalling towers with the ability to hit multiple enemies, such as the Tesla, Freezer or Frost Blaster, are particularly effective against the Fallen Necromancer as they can also stall the summoned Fallen Skeletons without taking their attention away from the Fallen Necromancer.
