Yeah, definitely more units!"

Commander dialogue on Wave 28 (Challenge Trials)

Description

[edit]

The Tanker is a support enemy that appears in Molten mode, Challenge Trials and Badlands II. It also appears in The Takeover Event. It functions similarly to the Boomer, though in comparison it has higher health, slower speed and increased debuffs.

It has two abilities, all of which happen upon losing certain amounts of health. Upon losing 67% of its health, it will release gas that heals enemies in a radius of 12. While this is meant to heal them by 1 every 0.5 tick for 15 seconds, this due to bugs only happens once, meaning this ability in total heals 1 health for each enemy near it. The Tanker cannot heal itself but can heal other Tankers. Its second ability happens upon death, where it will apply a 70% Fatigue Debuff and a 20% Range Debuff to all towers in a radius of 12, which lasts 10 seconds.

Appearance

[edit]

The Tanker has light green skin. It wears red pants with a black belt and brown bandages around its mutated arms. It also has grey hair. As its name suggests, it has multiple tanks on its body, some at the front of its torso and others at the back, held together with chains. Its arms also have multiple tubes going through them. On its head, it also wears a brown gas mask with neon red lens.

Strategy

[edit]
  • Killing the Tanker before it gets within range of your towers is the most ideal way to deal with Tanker. Keep in mind that it has quite a long debuff time.
    • Placing your towers away from the path is a good way to avoid the Tanker's debuff.
    • Long-range towers, such as the Hunter, Ranger or Turret are the best at keeping a distance away from the Tanker.
    • The Engineer's sentries can also be useful, as the sentries cannot be debuffed.
  • The DJ Booth allows towers to shoot the Tanker from further away, potentially defeating it before it blows up near your towers.
    • It and the Commander can also partially negate the Tanker's debuffs.
  • While the Medic is not able to shield towers from the Fatigue Debuff or Range Debuff, the shield on towers is not broken by them, meaning its Firerate Buff can be used to partially mitigate the Tanker's debuffs.
    • Towers which are normally immune to stuns by default are not immune to the debuffs either.
