Lunar Shard
Description
The Lunar Shard is a fast enemy that primarily appears in Sorrowful Remains and Nightmare Flash as part of the Solar Requiem Event. It also appeared in Nil Zone II during the Halloween 2026 Live Events. It is a low health enemy that spawns in groups and walks rather quickly.
Logbook Description
"The Lunar Shards fill the lower ranks of Umbra's army. Their bodies are fractured from failing to contain the lunar power embedded in them. A pale light weeps from cracks that grow larger with every step, until the Shards inevitably crumble. Penumbras once summoned them to defend the outskirts of her tower."
Appearance
The Lunar Shard hads a similar appearance to the Solar Shard in that they both looked like charred humanoids with visible cracks in them containing lunar power. Additionally, the body color of this enemy appeared slightly more bluish-purple than the Solar Shard. A defining physical characteristic of this enemy was its crescent moon structure that was located near its right shoulder.
Strategy
- The Lunar Shard is quite weak, meaning most towers can be used against it.
- AOE towers are the best options against it. This includes the Golden Demoman, Demoman, Mortar and Snowballer.
- Other towers like the Golden Scout, Trapper or Militant can also be used.
- As the Lunar Shard is quite fast, stalling towers like the Toxic Gunner can be used to stall it, though its low health means most stalling towers will be capable of killing them on their own.
Trivia
- In the Solar Eclipse Event, the Lunar Shard was the weaker counterpart to the Solar Shard as it had lower health and also was spawned by the latter. In Nil Zone II, the roles were reversed, since the Lunar Shard had more health than the Solar Shard and also appeared later.
