Ghoul

- Watch out! There's a mutated ghoul somewhere in the hoard. It looks like it's Hidden, so be careful.

- What's going on with that zombie?! It's regenerating!
Take it out quick before it can heal itself! - ―Commander dialogue on Wave 7 (Formerly, Intermediate)
Description
The Ghoul is an enemy that appears only in Intermediate mode. It also appeared in The Takeover Event. It has a decently high health and a slightly slow speed. On all waves, it appears as a Hidden enemy, which means towers must have hidden detection to be able to target it. The only time it spawns without it is if the Patient Zero summons it. On certain waves, it can also have other attributes, like Bloated and Slime, making it quite dangerous.
Due to a bug, Ghouls with the Slime attribute do not spawn the Slime upon death.
Appearance
The Ghoul is a tall humanoid with a waist, lower arms and lower legs in its rig. It has a light green skin color, torn dark grey shorts, a belt and a ragged white lab coat. It has exposed green veins, multiple tumors on its body and a malnourished chest. It has green glowing eyes and black patches of hair on its head, with a few strands on the sides.
Strategy
- Towers with hidden detection and a good amount of DPS like the Assassin, Cowboy, Militant, Crook Boss or Golden Crook Boss can be effective against it.
- Later on, high DPS towers like the Minigunner, Crook Boss or Hunter can kill these with ease.
- Towers with high damage can be quite useful against it, such towers include the Military Base and Trapper.
- Splash damage towers like the Rocketeer can prove effective in clearing out Ghouls in later waves due to its hidden detection and high splash DPS, considering they appear in large groups.
- Stalling towers like the Freezer and the Warden can be utilized to slow the Ghoul down.
