Description

[edit]

The Boomer is an enemy that explodes upon its death, which debuffs towers caught in the bile bubble. It has average health but slightly fast speed. The Boomer appears in Intermediate mode.

When the original Polluted Wasteland was in the game, the Boomer did not spawn in Golden and Fallen modes and was instead replaced by the Splitter.

Appearance

[edit]

The Boomer is a large humanoid with a waist in its rig. It has a green skin color and a crimson-brown torso, waist and legs. It has a bloated chest and stomach with tumors, which has a dark green explosive device strapped on it. The explosive has an orange caution symbol, red and blue wires and an antenna with a flashing red light on it.

Strategy

[edit]
  • The Boomer is quite fast, allowing it to quickly get to your towers and debuff them.
    • Additionally, it often times spawns alongside other, at times faster or aggro enemies, which distract the towers from the Boomer and allowing it to get closer to your towers.
  • Killing the Boomer before it gets within range of your towers is the most ideal way to deal with Boomers. Keep in mind that it has quite a long debuff time.
    • Placing your towers away from the path is a good way to avoid the Boomer's debuff.
    • Long-range towers, such as the Hunter are the best at keeping a distance away from the Boomer.
    • The Engineer's sentries can also be useful, as the sentries cannot be debuffed.
  • The DJ Booth allows towers to shoot the Boomer from further away, potentially defeating it before it blows up near your towers. It can also increase the damage of towers, allowing them to defeat it more quickly.
    • It and the Commander can also partially negate the Boomer's debuffs.
    • The Mercenary Base can also further contribute to the speedrun demise of the Boomer with its damage buff.
  • While the Medic is not able to shield towers from the Fatigue Debuff or Range Debuff, the shield on towers is not broken by them, meaning its Firerate Buff can be used to partially mitigate the Boomer's debuffs.
    • Towers which are normally immune to stuns by default are not immune to the debuffs either.
