Rewards

[edit]

The game calculates how many Coin Coins, Gem Gems and Experience EXP you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Experience EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular Experience EXP boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Strategy

[edit]
  • This map is somewhat short, so make sure to use your space wisely.
    • The Commander can help by decreasing a tower's firerate as the path is very short.
    • You can also use slowing towers to slow down enemies.
  • The Ranger can be used on this map, though be aware of the short path on this map and the Ranger's slow firerate.
  • The Military Base is less effective on this map since its units do not have a long period of time when it can attack enemies.
    • The Crook Boss's units are not as affected as they stop to attack enemies.
  • Towers that rely on corners to be more effective, like the Ace Pilot or Shotgunner, are not recommended on this map due to its lack of corners.
  • The Archer can be used in this map as the piercing can be effectively be used due to the straight path.

Trivia

[edit]
  • Functionally, Lay By is a Candy Cane Lane remake as that map also has a completely straight path.
  • There is faded graffiti that reads "R2D" on a wall of the drainage river close to the start of the path.
  • There is a billboard on this map which is an advertisement for a professional undead exterminator, which is called The Mercenary.
    • The text says, "Having pesky zombie troubles? The Mercenary at your service. Professional undead exterminator. Available 24/7 at number Lord-Exo-000."
    • The billboard names an character called Lord Exo, who was first seen in the Violent Night Event's trailer.
      • This is the first time Lord Exo is mentioned in-game. Previously, it only made appearances in trailers.
    • The background of the billboard appears to use the map Ruby Escort.
  • The first version of Lay By was based on a map from R2D.
    • An enemy with a C4 can be seen slumped over near the hut, in reference to an enemy from the game.
      • Its appearance is also similar to the Abnormal.
      • The C4 on the back of this enemy is the Fake C4 gear from the Roblox catalog.
    • The billboard in this version of the map shows Haunted Mansion, an old Roblox brickbattle game.
    • Destroyed Humvees and Trucks can be seen on this map.
