The Platinum Skincrate was a removed skincrate that could have been obtained by triumphing any 5 maps on the four difficulties (Beginners, Molten, Golden and Fallen). You did not need to have a perfect run throughout those rounds to contribute on getting the Platinum Skincrate, meaning that you could take damage in base health. You could also complete maps in MEGA Servers. The maps in question must have been beaten on all difficulties after the 8th of December 2019. For this reason, some maps with all four medals would not count to the Platinum Skincrate yet. Maps that you completed would have a star next to them. This did not include maps that were counted for a previous Platinum Skincrate, if you had claimed one before. Your medals would still remain when you claimed a Platinum Skincrate, making it difficult to keep track of what maps you needed to do to get the next Platinum Skincrate.

After you claimed a Platinum Skincrate, all previous medals earned on all maps no longer counted towards another Platinum Skincrate, even if they did not contribute to a previously earned Platinum Skincrate. This meant that you had to repeat all the medals that you have earned, if you wanted to earn another Platinum Skincrate, even if the map showed that you have earned all medals. However, you could repeat maps that had previously counted for a different Platinum Skincrate.

Like the Golden Skincrate, the Platinum Skincrate gave buffs to towers, although these buffs were slightly lower. However, the skincrates were effectively free since you did not need to use coins to buy this skincrate.

―Inventory Description

Description

[edit]

The Platinum Crate was a crate that could have been obtained by triumphing 5 different maps on all four difficulties (Beginner's, Molten, Golden and Fallen). You did not need to have a perfect run throughout those rounds, meaning that you could lose base health on those runs. You could also complete maps in MEGA Servers. The maps in question must have been beaten on all difficulties after the 8th of December 2019. For this reason, some maps with all four medals would not count to the Platinum Crate yet. Maps that you completed would have a star next to them. This did not include maps that were counted for a previous Platinum Crate, if you had claimed one before. Your medals would still remain when you claimed a Platinum Crate, making it difficult to keep track of what maps you needed to do to get the next Platinum Crate.

After you claimed a Platinum Crate, all previous medals earned on all maps no longer counted towards another Platinum Crate, even if they did not contribute to a previously earned Platinum Crate. This meant that you had to repeat all the medals that you have earned, if you wanted to earn another Platinum Crate, even if the map showed that you have earned all medals. However, you could repeat maps that had previously counted for a different Platinum Crate.

Like the Golden Crate, the Platinum Crate gave buffs to towers, although these buffs were not as strong. However, the crates were effectively free since you did not need to use coins to buy this crate.

Appearance

[edit]

The Platinum Crate was similar in design to the original Golden Crate, with the exception that it was colored in sirocco rather than yellow.

  • The Platinum skins were made months before they actually released, as the icons for the skins were made around the release of the MEGA Update.
  • The Platinum Crate was removed for unknown reasons, presumably for being redundant and buggy to obtain.
    • If you had any unused Platinum Crates, they were converted into Premium Crates on the 29th of October 2020.

      • Due to a glitch, the Platinum Crook Boss remained in the game for a while, yet the skin still provided its buffs.
        • Notably, it was actually updated visually to match the other Crook Boss skins.
        • However, the skin was disabled on the 23rd of November 2020, where it would instead be seen but could not be placed.
  • The Platinum Crate was originally planned to use the same crate opening music as the Premium Crate.
    • This, however, was scrapped as the Platinum Crate was removed before the crate music was applied.
  • The Platinum Crate was originally supposed to be renamed to the Silver Crate, and its skins would be renamed to Silver skins.
    • However, this has been scrapped for unknown reasons.
