a skin is a cosmetic that is equipped on a tower. while most skins do not provide any advantages and are just purely decoration, there are some exceptions. skins from the golden crate and the now removed platinum crate give certain towers buffs to make them stronger, wether that would be range, damage, attackrate, detections, or something else. overall a skin is a beloved feature in tower defense simulator, or TDS.
