Only thing keeping her out of S+ is her sentry building preventing her from attacking, especially when dealing with Flying or Lead enemies, which her sentries are far worse at against than Engi herself.

The only reason she is not S+ despite the "great" skins is that there is always something to overclass her

Who's better - teacher who works with 10 subjects or 1? 10 is better if you want all in 1 place. 1 is better if you want to learn 1 specific subject. Same with Engineer.

imagine someone the top 1% of a type of education, they mastered that thing, but struggle in alot of other stuff.
now imagine a team of people who is the top 5% of different stuff, while one person may struggle on another thing, there's another person in that same team that can cover that weakness.
Now put the team of people and the professional against eachother. while sure the professor dominates the others in their field they mastered. but in everything else they get SLAMMED
engineer is so good because, she has no true counter, while she may underperform when put against a specialist in its field, she decimates said specialist by covering alot of weaknesses, whatever they may be.

dude she still performs better than every specialist up to the advanced-golden roster, you cannot convince me crook boss or demoman are better towers even in their own niches- 1
It's almost like Engineer is a Hardcore tower, which tend to be better than most non-Golden towers. Even Brawler and the Forbidden Skeleton at minimum have higher stats than most non-HC towers in their roles. If Engineer was outclassed by stock Demo and Crook the devs would be doing something wrong.

yeah and she can still outperform alot of hardcore-evolved towers simply because she can cover most if not all weaknesses of any specialist
