Imagine a new event tower releases alongside the second act of lunar overture on halloween day of 2023
it comes out insanely ass even at the time, being the first and only event tower to cost an evergreen currency
it costs gems, being in the same price range as accelerator, the best dps of the time and the best tower for the last 3 years. and mr necromancer is insanely underwhelming and literally carried by his complexity
not only that, it got overshadowed by literally the other event tower of lunar overture, jester
that tower was so broken and could confuse bosses, pulling off the first ever solo hardcore since the removal of fungi island from the hc map rotation
this tower was so forgotten that even the devs forgot about him and kept him on sale for months after his release and even after lunar overture ended, becoming an evergreen tower by accident
he has kept the same state and made barely any cheaper for over 2 years, until the shock and awe update
he got a pretty decent buff, but not only were his stats changes mid because every other higher end tower (including accel, engineer, brawler and even cheaper towers like turret and crook boss) got their dps buffed for the nearly finished hardcore rework, they were mid because it didnt even fix his main issues, they just beefed up his numbers and called it a day

Ive been seeing necro take up the kingpin slot im strats lately. Surely he cant be bad if hes being subbed in for a evo tower

even with his recent nerf he's still pretty good if you use his ability, and while you do have to micro him, that's the whole point of the tower. Which while you might not like to do so (fair), it can be pretty fun for other people (like me).
