Definitions
- "the wiki" / "site": Tower Defense Simulator Wiki.
- "we" / "us" / "our": Paradoxum Wikis, the operator of the site.
- "you" / "your": anyone using the site, regardless of whether you're acting for yourself or someone else.
- "contributions": content you add or changes you make to the site.
- "personal information" / "personal data": information that could be used to identify you.
- "service providers" / "third parties": outside individuals or entities not operated by us that may process or handle data on our behalf as described in this policy.
Data collection
- Contributions: anything you post is attributed publicly to your username forever, like any wiki. Uploaded images or other media may retain embedded metadata from the original file.
- Account information: creating a new user account requires only a username and password; we never store your password in readable form. Email and real name are optional and only used if you add them, mainly for account recovery.
- Automatic information: IP, browser, OS, and referrer URL when you load a page.
- Cookies and local storage: kept to a minimum for the site to function, such as login sessions, preferences, and bot protection.
Usage
We use the data collected to help maintain the site; these include:
- Provide and maintain your account.
- Show pages fast and reliably.
- Fight spam, abuse, and other misuse of the site.
- Improve features, fix breakage.
- Legal or safety notices.
Sharing
We do not sell data. We share only with providers who run the site for us:
- A hosting and backup provider operating under a signed data processing agreement covering EU data centers only.
- A content delivery, firewall, bot protection, and site performance provider, which involves the United States under standard contractual safeguards.
- An email delivery provider used to send login and notification emails.
We disclose if required by law, court order, or if safety requires it. More broadly, we may access, use, preserve, or disclose your information if we reasonably believe it's necessary to comply with a valid legal request, protect our rights or property, investigate wrongdoing, protect the safety of our users or the public, or defend against legal liability.
Data management
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as appropriate.
Data retention
We keep identifiable information only as long as necessary. Private technical data, such as IP addresses linked to accounts or actions, is generally kept for around 90 days unless a longer period is needed for security or legal reasons. Public contributions may be kept indefinitely, subject to our content license.
Staff with CheckUser access may view IP and other technical data connected to accounts to investigate abuse.
Your rights
You may request to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, and withdraw consent where applicable, by emailing us. Depending on your location, you may also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Kids
Our wiki is open to anyone and is therefore available to children of all ages. However, an account may only be opened by users aged 16 or older; users aged 13 to 15 require parental consent to register; registration is not permitted for anyone under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes
Our privacy policy may change from time to time; any changes to the policy will be reflected on this page and are effective the moment it is published.
You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
