The best way to micro him is to pretty much just spam the first set of graves (wait for them to level up if they're level 3+).
Another thing that helps him get more soul is to set him on strong when he's level 3 or below, since then he's more likely to be hitting and dealing at least most damage.
And of course put him at the back of the map, but not too far that he can't see the entrance, or maybe not getting important buffs from towers like dj or commander.
Like i did a frost run where all 3 in total did like 700K+ damage (don't remember very well, could be higher or lower), that for only 333k is pretty insane.

Or just use Juggernaut and you get the same results without micro
