Voidcore is easy if in the right conditions, same goes for Solo Hardcore. But Solo Hardcore differs from Skill Tree progression, so I'll choose it over Voidcore.

If you like solo, then hardcore. If you like to play with a team, then Voidcore. - 1

Just get better teammates, bro. Ain't no way you're losing to such a trivial gamemode, since you tend to like the idea of whether if it's played with a coordinated team.

Having to micro so much dogspit compared to just casually playing Voidcore with some people is a huge difference.

SHC is easy if you're using Commander, have some basic Skill Tree (specifically Defense branch and Re-Enforcements), and you're experienced with the mode (when to change targetings, when to use certain track), but obviously overall it's hard. VC is harder because you need to remember that fuckass 100000-word strat.

Frick that, you're not being open minded about this.
If you genuinely believe that Voidcore is hard in the circumstances of having poor teammates, then apply that to Hardcore with poor Skill Tree as well.
IF you have competent teammates, you can't lose. Voidcore is TRIVIAL in competent multiplayer.
Solo Hardcore has nothing to carry you but the Skill Tree, making it harder to pull off for most people. You have to also mention the fact that as much as both become easier with strats, Solo Hardcore isn't that easy to do while skilless compared to Voidcore strats.
Either you're both genuinely bad at beating Voidcore with competent people, or you both never played Voidcore.
