It seems to travel the path in a behavior just like the Healing Beacon but without the healing part. It runs over weak path enemies, so I'd imagine it has some form of a hitbox but it's likely another one of those impossible logbooks if it's not separate from the echo of guilt or cannot be killed like the Healing Beacon. 
What Are The Chances That The Heatwave Entity Also Has A Logbook?
