Description

[edit]

The Damage Debuff is a debuff applied by enemies that decreases a tower's damage. This debuff does not appear anywhere on the tower, though it does reduce the percentage of the tower's Damage Buff.

Mechanics

[edit]

The Damage Debuff effectively is just a negative Damage Buff, best seen if a tower affected by it has a Damage Buff. For example, if a tower with a 20% Damage Buff receives a 15% Damage Debuff, the Damage Buff will get reduced to 5%. Similarly, if a tower receives a Damage Debuff higher than its current Damage Buff, the icon for it will be removed entirely. For example, if a tower with a 50% Damage Buff will receive a 60% Damage Debuff, the icon for the buff will disappear and the tower will end up with a 10% Damage Debuff.

The damage affected by the Damage Debuff is calculated as:

Damage × (1 - (Damage Debuff - Damage Buff))
where Damage Debuff and Damage Buff is the debuff supplied by the enemy in decimal form (for example, 10% is 0.1). If the tower has no Damage Buff on itself, the number for it should be set to 0.

The damage of a tower affected by the Damage Debuff cannot be in decimal form, instead of being rounded down or rounded up to the nearest integer. For example, a tower that deals 5 damage with a 50% Damage Debuff will deal 2 damage, instead of 2.5. The damage also cannot be lower than 1. For example, a tower with a 25% debuff will have its damage displayed as 0.75, but it will actually deal 1 damage, though some towers like the Shotgunner will break and actually deal nan damage.
