Well, I'm 3 N4 clears in.
Ashamed to admit how many attempts that took.
TOAN was first try, though Night 2 was awfully close and I whiffed the last minigame. Eh. Still won.

Anyways, thoughts!
The event's alright. Like, 6.5/10. Nights 1-3 are very average and absolutely nothing special, and while Night 4 is fun and well executed, the lack of proper explanation for Umbra's mechanics as well as the obscene difficulty on release prevent me from really considering it all that good. Aside from Umbra, it's the most standard event gameplay since Halloween 2019.
As for other parts, I... seriously do not care for the story. I don't feel any attachment to these characters and don't find them interesting at all, especially when 90% of the lore is dumped in Umbra's logbook anyway (which I do not have yet...). It's still the best of Keo's writing, but that bar is located all the way in Heresy by now. Exo also still does nothing to be an actual antagonist and just lets everyone else do things for him, and Commander remains flat as always. There's also the whole EngiMedic yuri thing that's clearly being built up but literally who cares. Narrator also ruins things like always.
Music... I'll be honest, it's all excellent except Umbra's theme. Finality just fucking blows, man. Probably one of the worst songs in the whole OST, but it's not ear gratingly bad like whatever the hell Void Prime has going on, though that's a different game and I also can't be bothered to look up the actual song title. Solar Damnation and Moonveil are immaculate, though. Love these 2 songs.
That's about all I have to say, really. Solid event but it's nothing special besides Umbra. Frost Invasion remains my favorite, even if that's likely mostly nostalgia talking. Also, to all Necromancer fans, I sincerely apologize, I did not know your game. Necromancer is becoming one of my personal favorites very quickly, even more so than Elementalist. This buff absolutely saved the poor guy and I highly recommend using him yourself before making opinions. After all, that's how Golden Demoman got overlooked despite being one of the strongest towers in the entire game.
Oh, and rather than dropping a random link to a song I like here, I'm just gonna say, go listen to the entire Indulgence OST. I-3 and I-4 were just dropped yesterday and are INCREDIBLE levels, and if you have ULTRAKILL I highly advise getting out r2modman and playing through Indulgence (which you can install on AngryLevelLoader, just make sure to uninstall Notiffy despite it being a dependency, end_4 is problematic media.). Absolutely the highlight of my day rather than Solar Requiem.
In Hands of Azrael and WHERE NO ONE CAN HEAR are especially phenomenal songs, so I'll drop links for them.
