Description
The Commander—whose name is John—is a high-ranking official within the T.D.S. Organization. He works as the field commander that leads, commands troops, and strategizes against the multitude of enemies they face. He has been working for the T.D.S. Organization since before Chapter 0 of Story mode, and has likely been around before many of the other agents even joined the organization, due to the promotions he had received over the years.[1]
Formerly, the Commander wore a blue outfit, but as of the events of Hardcore/Voidcore mode, the Commander now dresses in a black outfit. It is unknown whether this uniform change is related to an update to his rank.
The Commander has a cat named Claudette that lives in his office.[2]
Personality
From what is revealed about him in the many game modes he is present in as a narrator, the Commander displays himself to be a focused, competent, dedicated, and brave individual, often risking the safety of himself and his team to save those in danger.[3][4]
As his team faced peril brought on by the zombie horde chasing them, and the loss of two of their teammates in Chapter 1 of Story mode, the Commander stayed resolute in their mission to escort the civilians they rescued to Cyber City,[5] proving his will to be unshakable under pressure.
After the Dispatcher was taken away by Lord Exo at the end of the Null & Void Event, the Commander started to become more irritable and erratic, due to his attachment to her.[6]

| Leadership: Being the commander of T.D.S. Organization, the Commander has full control over his troops inside and outside of the battlefield. The Commander also holds authority over the operation of various vehicles that are used by the T.D.S. Organization.[1] |  |
| Armory: Typically, the Commander's method of offense, on a personal level, was through a M1911 pistol. As of Hardcore/Voidcore mode, Commander now uses a Desert Eagle pistol. The Commander also has authority over the weaponry of the APCs he commands.[7] |  |
