Overworld
Description
The Overworld is one of the many realms that was spawned from the seed of Paradise, and is the realm to which the main events of the game's story line take place. It is mainly supposed to be the equivalent to Earth, but certain elements of the realm indicate that the Overworld also shares similarities to what Robloxia is supposed to be, from official Roblox material.
Inhabitants
The primary inhabitants of the Overworld are known as humans.[3] Like humans in the real world, the humans of Tower Defense Simulator seem to be the apex species of their world, dominating the globe. Though, whether the humans of Tower Defense Simulator share the same, or similar histories and upbringings of the humans of the real world remains unknown, as the Robloxia-inspired elements of the Overworld could possibly influence elements of humanity.
Zombies are another set of beings that inhabit the Overworld, they are the undead corpses of humans that have been mutated and animated to life by the effects of Serum Zero developed by Oasis X Enterprise laboratories.[4] It is unknown when the zombies first started appearing in the Overworld, but as of The Final Act Event, they seem to retain a sizable global population.[5] From certain cinematic material, zombies possess an intelligence of some degree and a drive for self-preservation.[6]
Lesser known entities known as Pumpkids and Swampers[7] have been shown to be living in the Overworld. It can be assumed that they are each their own separate species of monsters native to the realm, and that there is likely more of them not shown in the game.
Groups
The T.D.S. Organization is the protagonist force in the Tower Defense Simulator story and is a primary faction whose operations are based from the Overworld. Their goal is to fight back against the zombies, Molten, Fallen, and any other force that wishes to pose a threat to humanity and the world. As of the Null & Void Event, they also worked to secure God Cube fragments, whether it be from within the Overworld or from other realms. But after Lord Exo's freedom from the God Cube, the T.D.S. Organization's new focus is trying to limit the damage of the Meta falling apart, and fight back against any destruction that Lord Exo might cause.
The Children of Exo are a mysterious cult and terrorist organization whose goal is to free Lord Exo from his prison. As of the Null & Void Event, they have achieved their goal. They are aligned against the T.D.S. Organization.
The Dark Sun[8] is an enigmatic faction lead by The Umbra. They had been working in the shadows to retrieve God Cube fragments for their Mistress. Their attempts were thwarted many times by the T.D.S. Organization, with The Umbra ultimately being defeated at Totality Tower, and the Dark Sun presumably along with her.
Locations
T.D.S. Bases
The T.D.S. Organization has several bases of operation that span the Overworld. Each of these locations are unique and serve distinct purposes for the agency.
T.D.S. Headquarters, or T.D.S. HQ, is the primary base of operations that the agents are seen working from. From there, they are deployed onto the battlefield for missions.
Outpost 32 is the organization's portal research base that they use to study interdimensional travel using the God Cube shards they had collected.
Outpost 16 is the testing facility that the organization used to conduct Project God Merger during the Null & Void Event.
Cyber City
Cyber City is the only major metropolitan area within the Overworld, apocalypse survivors from around the world are migrated here for better protection from the zombies. From what has been said about the city from various survivors and the Sniper, Cyber City is not exactly a good place to live as it is quite crowded and many have to fight for work.[10]
In modern day, Patient Zero attempted to unleash his Serum Zero in Cyber City to destroy it.[11]
Professor V has been mentioned to have been creating technology in Cyber City for years.[9]
The alternatively known name for the Overworld—"Cyber City Realm"—is named after Cyber City[1], possibly due to it being a major landmark.
Abandoned City
The Abandoned City is a location in the story of the game that was home to a group of human survivors during the zombie apocalypse in the past. After the survivors migrated out from the city, it has been left entirely abandoned.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the Commander and his team traveled to the Abandoned City in search of these survivors.
Forest Camp
The Forest Camp was a location used by the Abandoned City survivors as a hide out from the zombie horde before they continued on. The camp was mentioned to have been created just months before the survivors resided there.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the Commander and his team traveled to the Forest Camp in search of these survivors.
U-Turn
U-Turn was the final location used by the Abandoned City survivors as a hide out from the zombies before the T.D.S. Organization rescued them.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the Commander and his team traveled to U-Turn in search of these survivors before attempting to ferry them to Cyber City.
Severing Connection
Severing Connection, also known as the "Main Bridge" on the Commander's map, was a location traveled across by the T.D.S. Organization and the Abandoned City survivors on their way to Cyber City.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the bridge was blown up by the Demoman to prevent the zombies from reaching them.
Night Station
The map of Night Station is a train station that is located near the Main Bridge.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the train station was used as a rest stop by the Commander's team and the Abandoned City survivors before continuing on their journey to Cyber City.
Crystal Cave
Crystal Cave is a mine used by Cyber City to extract crystals, a source of energy used to power Cyber City. The Trapper has been working in the mines of Crystal Cave as a watchman ever since he was kicked out of the T.D.S. training program.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, Crystal Cave was used as an escape route from Night Station by the T.D.S. agents and the Abandoned City survivors to get away from the zombies that were catching up to them.
Extraction Point
Extraction Point is an underground refinery located near Cyber City that is used to process the crystals mined from Crystal Cave so the minuscule traces of energy within them can be extracted and used to power Cyber City.
In Chapter 1 of Story Mode, the Commander's team and the Abandoned City survivors escape through the refinery to the ground level of Cyber City.
Trick or Threat Town
Trick or Threat Town used to be a thriving community home to many people, including the three brothers within the Children of Exo, Ramiel, Marcellus, and Kronus.[12]
When Lord Sinister attacked the town in search of the God Cube fragment held there[13], the T.D.S. Organization intervened and the ensuing conflict left the town in ruins, leaving its former population to abandon it.[14]
Eclipsed Village
Eclipsed Village is a town that used to exist in the near past of the Overworld's history, it used to be the hometown of The Umbra and Penumbras.[16] At some point in time, it was abandoned, and in the modern day it was acquired by a mining company.[15] In the Hexscape Event, the Children of Exo set up their operations at Eclipsed Village because it was ground zero for the God Cube.[15]
