This page contains the official story elements included in Banlands of Null & Void Event. Most of the content is expressed through cutscenes, though some dialogue is important to the storyline.

Story Overview

This is the second night for the Null & Void Event. It takes place immediately after the events of Outpost 16, the first night.

After being sentenced to be erased by the Rift Walker, the Dispatcher, Commander, Minigunner and Scout end up in the Banlands, located in the outer Nil Zone. There, they find the Narrator, unaware of their presence, talking to himself.

The Null Guardian arrives, carrying Titus with him then throwing him to the ground. The Narrator lashes out on him, as he believes the Children of Exo used him just to then let him die when convenient. While preparing an account, the Narrator starts crying. To help him, Lefty gives him a tissue.

After turning around, the Narrator is shocked to see the T.D.S. Organization there. He similarly lashes out on them, this time for them ruining his career. During this, they are interrupted by Titus who attempts to take revenge on the T.D.S. Organization for losing twice to them, though he is quickly gotten rid of by the Narrator slapping him with Lefty.

After getting rid of the distractions, the Narrator includes the T.D.S. Organization to the Banlands and its main inhabitant, the Null Guardian, an entity tasked with eliminating everything that comes into the realm. He then announces their demise, followed by the Null Guardian telling him his death is next. The Narrator tries to calm the situation down, though this leads to nowhere.

The T.D.S. Organization, with Narrator unwillingly on their side, fight off the Null Guardian and anything else that attempts to attack them, which eventually leads to the Null Guardian being killed by them. The Narrator thanks the audience for their compliments. During this, the Minigunner begins clapping, which causes the rest of his team to become disappointed in him.

Righty touches the Narrator, then points towards the T.D.S. Organization. This leads to the Narrator acting surprised that they are not dead. He then mentions that they are lucky that the Null Guardian did not have a fail-safe in his corpse in the case of his death, which shortly is proven to be the case as a portal opens up to an unknown area. This leads to a short argument between the two, which is stopped by them being dragged into the portal.

Opening Cutscene

Synopsis

The following summarizes the events shown in the opening cutscene.

Synopsis

The Commander, Dispatcher, Scout and Minigunner arrive in the Banlands, located in the outer Nil Zone, after being sentenced there by the Rift Walker. Once they have all landed, they see the Narrator talking to himself. Shortly after, the Null Guardian appears carrying Titus. Upon seeing him, the Narrator lashes out on him, as he believes he was used by them. While trying to perform a final act on him, he breaks down and starts crying. Lefty quickly arrives to help by giving him a tissue.

Afterwards, the Narrator turns around and sees the T.D.S. Organization who have just arrived in the Banlands. Shocked, he similarly to Titus attacks them, this time for ruining his show. Titus interrupts this as an attempt to take revenge on the T.D.S. Organization, though this is stopped by the Narrator slapping him away.

The Narrator introduces the T.D.S. Organization to the Banlands, then also tells them who the Null Guardian is. Shortly after, he announces their death. The Null Guardian agrees with him, but adds in that he will be next. The Narrator tries to calm down the situation, but this leads nowhere.

A portal opens up in the Banlands, which has the Commander, Dispatcher, Minigunner and Scout fall out of it. The camera then moves to show the Narrator talking to himself.

Narrator: When I get my hands on those PUPPETS...

Narrator: I'm gonna'...

A second portal opens, which is later shown to be the Null Guardian arriving with Titus.

Narrator: You've GOT to be KIDDING me!

The Null Guardian throws Titus on the ground.

Narrator: You USED me, to bring you to the Temple of Exo!

Narrator: THEN you scheming JERKS made me put together

Narrator: your GOD CUBE PIECES

Lefty and Righty are surprised to see their master so mad.

Narrator: before throwing me to the Executioner!

Narrator: Now I'm preparing my final act!-...

Narrator: This script sucks.

The Narrator starts crying. Lefty offers him a tissue.

Narrator: Thank you.

Lefty gives him a thumbs up.

Narrator: YOU GUYS!?

Dispatcher: We we're-

Narrator: Shut it you EXTRA!

Narrator: You guys ruined me!

Narrator: I spent YEARS perfecting that script

Narrator: And you didn't even give me a cutscene to end it?

Narrator: WHO DOES THAT!?

Narrator: Not to mention!-

The Narrator is interrupted by Titus.

Titus: Finally! Now I'll get my reven-

Narrator: I'M TALKING!

The Narrator slaps Titus away with Lefty.

Titus: Not again!

The Narrator moves up to the Dispatcher.

Narrator: Ahhh, background characters.

The Narrator moves to the side and stands in front of the Null Guardian.

Narrator: Anyway uhh, welcome to the edge of the Nil Zone where "handsome" here cleans up the washed up talent.

The Null Guardian growls.

Narrator: He's such a charmer!

Narrator: But now my unwanted guests.

Narrator: It's time for you all...

Narrator: TO DIE!

Null Guardian: Yes...

Null Guardian: And you will follow.

The Narrator runs away to the T.D.S. Organization.

Narrator: I'll take a raincheck please?

Null Guardian: Bha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha...

Null Guardian: No.

Ending Cutscene

The T.D.S. Organization kills the Null Guardian, leading to the Narrator thanking the audience for the performance. The Minigunner starts clapping at the Narrator, with the rest of his crew being visibly disappointed in him.

Righty touches the Narrator, then points at the T.D.S. Organization. The Narrator, shocked that they are still alive, tells them they should feel lucky that there is no failsafe for the Null Guardian's death. This quickly turns out to actually be true, as a portal opens up to the side, sucking them all in.

Narrator: End scene!

Narrator: Thank you! Thank you...

Narrator: You're too kind.

Narrator: Oh stop it. No, no - don't stop.

Narrator: Keep it coming.

The Minigunner begins clapping and woos. The rest of his crew is disappointed in him.

Righty touches the Narrator to get his attention, then points at the T.D.S. Organization.

Narrator: HOW ARE YOU ALL STILL ALIVE?!?

Narrator: As if today couldn't get any worse.

Narrator: You're lucky the Rift Walker didn't put a failsafe on his corpse so that he could kill us himself!-

A portal opens to the side of the Narrator, which quickly starts sucking everyone into it. Everyone grabs onto something to not fall in.

Commander: You had to jinx it?!?

Narrator: SHUT IT! I HATE YOU THE MOST!

Lefty gets completely sucked into the portal.

Narrator: Lefty!

Everyone else gets completely into the portal.
