Failed Gateway - Story
This is the story subpage for Failed Gateway. It contains information about the cutscenes and an overview of the story.
This page contains the official story elements included in the first night of the Hexscape Event. Most of the content is expressed through cutscenes, though some dialogue is important to the storyline.
Story Overview
This is the first night for the Hexscape Event. This map does not have a set time on when it happens, however, since the events generally take place in the same order as when they were released, it would happen after the Krampus' Revenge Event.
The Dispatcher sends out three agents, Commander, Scout and Minigunner to investigate a newly discovered God Cube fragment. This fragment is then shown to actually be an artificial recreation of the God Cube created by the Children of Exo. It was created so that they can open a portal to another realm.
One of the cultists arrives, informing others that the T.D.S. Organization is aware of their location and are about to arrive. Then, they demand that the code is executed immediately, something that another cultist does not want to do due to a lack of time. This leads to a brief argument, in which it is revealed the portal is meant to lead to Lord Exo's prison.
Titus, one of the cultists, informs the others that the T.D.S. Organization is already close to their location. He decides to face them himself to give other cultists more time.
A battle ensues between the T.D.S. Organization and Titus' army of pawns. Based on the skybox getting far darker, both during gameplay and in the final cutscene, this battle has likely lasted a few hours. After realizing that his pawns are not defeating the agents sent by the T.D.S. Organization, he fight them himself, but is eventually defeated.
Despite his defeat, Titus bought the Children of Exo enough time for the portal to activate. This leads to both Titus and the T.D.S. Organization agents to get sucked into an unknown realm.

The man by the computer replies that only if the portal opens will they find out.
A pale man moves to inform the two other men that their activities have caught the eyes of their enemies, and that they must expedite their operation. The man operating the computer asserts that he needs more time, but the pale man says that is not possible and the consequences for not acting immediately are dire. A man with a large claw alerts that their enemies draw near and says that he will hold them off while the portal is activated. ?????: It's too late for that, if we lose this opportunity,
?????: we won't ever be able to connect to Exo ever again.
Titus: OI! THEY'RE ALMOST HERE! GET THE PORTAL STARTED AND RUN OUT OF HERE!
