This is the story subpage for Blind Faith/Story. It contains information about the cutscenes and an overview of the story.
This page contains the official story elements included in Night 3, that takes place in the map Blind Faith during the Null & Void Event. Most of the content is expressed through cutscenes, though some dialogue is important to the storyline.
Story Overview
[edit | edit source]This is the third night for the Null & Void Event. It takes place immediately after the events of Banlands, the second night.
Commander, Dispatcher, Scout, Minigunner and Narrator arrive in some broken down church. Through various dialogue, like the Wave 12 and 21 dialogue, it can be concluded that this is located inside the Nil Zone.
In here, they see the Rift Walker successfully fighting off the Children of Exo. As he is about to cast a spell, he is grabbed by Righty. The Narrator, who was playing dead, escapes away from T.D.S. Organization and blocks bullets using Lefty.
While the Rift Walker is held by Righty, Kronus rebuilds the God Cube by merging their half of the God Cube with the one the T.D.S. Organization collected. Using the just created God Cube powered staff, he begins to prepare the Rift Walker's body to be taken over by Lord Exo by corrupting him with the staff.
While the Narrator and Children of Exo are preparing Lord Exo's rebirth, the T.D.S. Organization fights off hordes of null enemies. During this, the T.D.S. Organization hears or gets into conversations with their enemies, revealing many at the time unknown things about the past, like the Narrator being responsible for the Nerd Duck finding a fragment.
Once enough energy has been put into the Rift Walker, Kronus stops corrupting him and attempts to take down the T.D.S. Organization agents himself as revenge for not saving Trick or Threat Town, though he is defeated. Around this time, they also rebuild the Star Cannon which fell down from the sky and broke upon landing.
By the final wave, the Rift Walker could not fully resist the corruption, allowing for Lord Exo to possess him. While now with a body, the current one still is resisting him, but this does not concern him at the moment. Instead, he decides to fight the T.D.S. Organization, which ends with his defeat.
Defeated Lord Exo, realizing that the Rift Walker is not a suitable host for his soul decides to find another body to possess. He decides that Kronus is the most ideal option he has and begins transferring his soul to him. His brothers shocked by this do not want that to happen and even attack the Narrator for breaking the deal they had with him.
Eventually, Kronus gives up and lets Lord Exo use him as his body. Now with a more suitable body, Lord Exo has been reborn. He starts out by pulling out a blade and then puts the Dispatcher in chains, kidnapping her. Immediately after, he ends up stabbing the Rift Walker, who has been weakened by the fight he unwillingly got into while possessed, killing him.
The Commander, Scout and Minigunner end up being sucked into an orange portal, preventing them from doing anything to save the situation. This portal shortly after turns out to be Professor V and Nerd Duck, who have found a way to open up a portal to their location. While done in good faith, this leads to the T.D.S. Organization being unable to save the Dispatcher. The Commander starts crying while the Scout looks up at the sky, to see multiple rifts have opened up.
The turns black. The Narrator starts talking to Lord Exo, and while he does not mind the Narrator continuing what he has been doing, he no longer sees any use from him. Saddened by this, the Narrator leaves and ends up inviting the player to his premiere, ending the last cutscene.

Master Kronus: Now, let's see.
Kronus laughs as he merges the two halves of the God Cube together.
Commander: Come on!
Chief Marcellus: Lord Exo's body was destroyed eons ago.
Chief Marcellus: But yours?
Master Kronus: Will do nicely.
Rift Walker: The realms will collapse, if I die.
Master Kronus: Hmmmmm...
Master Kronus: GOOD!

Lord Exo: What can you do that those thousands could not?
Area around the Rift Walker returns to normal as the camera moves to show the Dispatcher.
