Skin Trivia

  • The Commander is the main narrator of the game.
  • The Galactic skin is based on the second version of the Level 5 Default upgrade.
  • The former Galactic icon suggested that the skin originally had a pants texture, instead of being a solid color. However, the pants design shown were never shown on the actual skin.
  • Prior to the Entity System Update, the Galactic skin had a bug where its gun would be pointed downwards when Call to Arms was activated.
  • The former General icon showed black shades, which the skin only got at Level 2.
  • The first version of the General skin had a glitched glasses texture between Level 3-4.
    • The same face can be seen on the Level 4 upgrade icon.
      • These accessories were created long after the current Default Commander was added.
  • The current appearance of the Default skin was based on the Navy Commander skin submission made by Megalodon016.
  • The Gargoyle skin was based on the Gargoyle Commander skin submission made by KanoZ.
  • The Commander's skin tone in its upgrade icons and dialogue is different than the skin tone seen in-game.
  • The Eclipse skin is based on Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion Franchise[1].
  • The Eclipse skin's sword is based on the Night's Edge from Terraria.
  • On the render seen in the Gift Box after purchasing the Unwavering Tides Bundle gamepass, and the Unwavering Tides Update icon, thumbnail and trailer, the Pirate Commander has a different Level 4 appearance than the one in-game.
    • Most notably, the unused version of the Pirate skin has a lantern, which is not present in-game.
      • Additionally, in the render, the Pirate skin holds a lantern instead of its cutlass. The cutlass is instead in the scabbard, suggesting that initially the Pirate skin was meant to hold a lantern.
    • The unused version of the Pirate skin has a bandolier with two flintlocks holsters, which both have a flintlock. However, in-game, there is only one flintlock holster which does not have a flintlock in it.
    • The unused version of the skin has a regular left foot, but in-game the Pirate skin uses a peg leg.
  • The Eggrypted skin is based on Eggrypted.
  • The Eggrypted skin icon is missing its watermelon stool.
  • The Umbra skin is based on The Umbra.
  • The Gargoyle and Phantom skins were the only skins that had appearance changes at Level 2 before the Commander Rework in V1.21.9
  • The default skin uses its Level 2 appearance on its icon instead of its Level 0 appearance.
    • It also uses the correct face.
  • As part of a Pressure and Tower Defense Simulator collab, a skin for the Commander which would be based on Sebastian Solace[2], though this skin is unreleased as the collab never has happened.
    • The skin actually has fully finished voice lines recorded by Gianni Matragrano, though as the skin was never released they remain unused.
  • A skin based on Saul Goodman from the Breaking Bad franchise was made for the Commander and it would have released alongside the Retired Cowboy, though this never happened.
  • The Phantom skin bears a lot of resemblance to the Captain from Risk of Rain 2.
  • According to the Commander Aquaman Charm charm, the Aqua skin is the defender of Abyssal Trench.
    • The charm and the Aquaman sticker both refer to it as "Aquaman" instead of just "Aqua". This is most likely due to the skin originally being referred to as "Aqua Man" prior to its release.
  • The Candy Cane skin is a submission made by OliverDalizard.
  • The Director skin is a submission modeled by 5ouls.
    • The concept art for the skin was made by chococolca.
  • The Wonderland skin is a submission modeled by Kingk02.
    • The concept art for the skin was made by spicymay0.
    • The voicelines were recorded by paperjamaz.
    • The skin is based on Kasane Teto.
    • It was originally intended to be named Christmas Diva Commander, but the name was later changed for unknown reasons.
      • Early concepts featured two separate boxes representing Levels 1 and 2; this idea was scrapped due to inventory loading issues and to prevent misleading players who planned to purchase the battle pass.
    • In-game, the character (not the skin) is named Toto, as indicated by the text on its arm and its voice lines.
    • The small plush located at the bottom of the skin appears to be a miniature version of the skin itself, and is based on the Padoru meme.

Roblox Catalog

  • The dog tags present on most Level 1+ Commander skins is the Dog Tags accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The glasses present on most older Level 1+ Commander skins are a retextured version of the Clockwork's Shades.

    • The Level 5 Default cap is the The Commander accessory from the Roblox catalog, but with a Paradoxum logo instead of Roblox logo.

    • The Level 1-4 Victorian aiguillette is the Aiguilletes accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The neon visor with wings used by the Galactic skin is a re-textured version of the Winged Shades of Aqua accessory from the Roblox catalog.
  • The Bloxy skin is based on Annual Bloxy Awards gears and accessories, which are given out by Roblox as a reward to Bloxy Awards winners.
  • Prior to the Duck Hunt Update, when the Call to Arms ability was activated, the Commander's face turned into the ROAR!!! face from the Roblox catalog for the duration of it attacking enemies.
