Summary

Area 51 was a desert map that was based on the Nevada Test and Training Range, more commonly known as Area 51. Due to the high secrecy of the place, it has been rumoured that the place contains proof of extraterrestrial evidence, such Aliens. The map itself is a military base, with helipads, runways, hangers and the American flag all surrounded by a perimeter fence. There was very little landscape features, though hills can be seen outside the fence.

This was the event map for the Area 51 Event. Players start with Cash$1,800 (Cash$1,900 for players in the community group). While you can choose a difficulty, this will have no effect on the zombies that spawn. For this reason, Insane mode is recommended as it gives you the highest wave reward. Players are rewarded with the Commando when completed, but only if the mode is Normal+.

The path starts from a mystic half portal, with particles emitting from it. It cuts into the perimeter fence and winds around the various buildings within the fence. It ends at a hanger.

Strategy

  • The points where the map turns is obviously where most of your towers should be placed.
  • Cliff towers, such as the Outlaw, can cover most of the map if placed correctly.
  • If you can help it, try not to place your towers too close to each other due to the attacks that the various zombies have.
  • You get paychecks towards the end of the round, so expensive towers like the Turret or Commando could be gotten by the end of the game.
  • You cannot place any towers outside the perimeter fence.
  • Towers that are non-humanoid (like the Turret) are excellent against the enemies on the last few waves, as they cannot target non-humanoids.

  • This map is was likely made due to the Facebook event Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us becoming viral.
    • The zombies that spawn, Raiders, are likely a reference to this.
    • The other zombies that spawn, namely the Aliens, reference the conspiracy theories surrounding Area 51.
