Summary

Tropical Isles is a tropical map. It has had many iterations since its first addition to the game.

Design & Path

The current version of Tropical Isles is an archipelago, with small islands surrounding the large main island, though as the map appears to be at low tide, the islands are interconnected by a shallow beach. Each island has trees, rocks and a grass patch. The main island has most of the rocky terrain. Several wooden piers, some broken, jut out from the main island. A wooden red cross can be seen lying against a rock.
The brown pebble path starts and ends at two caves. It takes three long meanders, avoiding the natural environment.

The second version of Tropical Isles was a low lying archipelago with various islands dotted around. There were very few man-made objects, with a pirate ship, wooden bridges and a cross in the ground, which signified treasure, being the only artificial things to note. Various palm trees were dotted around the map.
The brown pebble path began and ended at two caves. It crossed the ocean twice, to and from the main island, to a minor island via wooden bridges.

The first version of Tropical Isles was a sandy island in the middle of the ocean. There were a few rocks, where you could place cliff towers on, some coconut trees, some cannons and six piers with three ships anchored to them. There was also another ship and a small island in which you could place ground towers on, both were in the distance. Some red crosses in the ground could also be found, signifying treasure.
The brown path started and ended at two caves. It took three long meanders.

Strategy

  • There is plenty of space in the middle of the map to place all the ground troops that are required.
    • Do note that this is some distance away from the start of the map meaning that summoner enemies, like the Necromancer can spawn enemies before being attacked.
  • There are two main grassy rocks in which cliff towers can be placed upon.
    • While this should be fine for most people, you may find that cliff space is limited.

Trivia

  • In the second version of the map, one of the coconuts in the palm trees on the far island had a flushed emoji printed on it. Also on another island, you could find a socket puppet with a Cowboy hat on a raft.
  • Unlike many other maps that existed prior to the MEGA Update, this map was not remade or removed. This was quite strange considering that it retained a blocky style, similar to maps that were remade. This map was later remade in the Overhaul Update and later the Frost Update.
  • An enemy-looking humanoid can be seen sunbathing on the beach. This humanoid does not represent any enemy in-game.
    • This humanoid looks somewhat similar to the Mega Zombie accessory in the catalog.
