Description

[edit]

Retro Crossroads is a map where the path intersects itself near the middle of the map. It has been remade twice since its addition to the game. It is a retro version of Crossroads, meaning its style is based around old Roblox.

Design & Path

[edit]

Retro Crossroads is a blocky version of the Crossroads map. It is split into four distinct quadrants. First one is a black mountain with a few castle walls on it. The second quadrant contains a small flat area, then a few grey and orange cliffs with various structures. Next quadrant contains an even bigger flat area, then a few yellow and green cliffs. It does not contain anything other than a few cliffs and entrances inside the cave. The last quadrant is entirely flat. It contains a tall structure and a trampoline. All quadrants are surrounded by a yellow wall.

The path starts at a green spawn point and ends at a red spawn point. the path is mostly straight, mainly taking turns in the flat quadrant. The path intersects in the middle of the map.

Rewards

[edit]

The game calculates how many Coin Coins, Gem Gems and Experience EXP you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Experience EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular Experience EXP boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Difficulty reward scaling for survival mode Coins and Exp is 0.85x.
Mode Coins/Gem Reward EXP Reward
Easy Coin 250 ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 50 (Triumph Only) Experience 50 EXP ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])

Strategy

[edit]
  • Since the path crosses twice in the middle of the map, it is suggested to place ground towers near it.
    • Melee towers and towers with short range, like the Shotgunner or Warden excel at this spot
    • Towers that deals damage overtime such as the Pyromancer can be placed here as well, enabling them to deal the damage twice.
      • Additionally, the Pyromancer can utilize its pierce to hit more enemies.
  • The path where the enemies spawn is long and narrow, making it a great spot for Archers and Shotgunners as they are able to hit more enemies with their piercing.
  • This map has a lot of cliff spots, making cliff towers very useful here.
    • Do note that some cliff spots may be far away from the path. You can use DJ Booth to increase the range of your towers.
  • Since the map goes around a loop, the Ace Pilot is able to cover most of the path when placed inside the loop.
