God Cube

- That cube was a prison, made from the souls of thousands that one man sacrified.
They were weak, but would still be revered as Gods in your realm. - ―Lord Exo in the second cutscene of Blind Faith
Description
The God Cube is the prime object of focus within the Tower Defense Simulator storyline. Back when Lord Exo still retained his original body, the God Cube was created to serve as a prison for his spirit. The souls of thousands of powerful beings were sacrificed by Two X to create the God Cube.
Upon contact with the God Cube, primarily through absorption into the body, living beings will become corrupted by its power. The being's form will mutate, resulting in a change of physical appearance, a prolonged life or functional immortality, and a significant increase in power.[2] Additionally, the God Cube can also be used as a power source, being able to power giant mechs[3] or improve one's ability to cast spells[4].
Hosts
"Hosts" are beings that have been corrupted by the God Cube's power. The effects of the God Cube on life are not uniform, as each host is affected differently. The only distinguishable similarity among hosts is physical empowerment.
Currently, only nine hosts are shown within the canon of Tower Defense Simulator. Three more are shown in the Null & Void Event, that being the Brute, Grave Digger and Molten Warlord, however, they are only listed as people who T.D.S. Organization recovered a fragment from. Nothing past that, including how they used it is actually elaborated on, and because of this they will simply not be listed due to a lack of information.
Patient Zero
Patient Zero, previously known as Dr. Herrschaft[5], was a former human scientist working for Oasis X Enterprise laboratories. Patient Zero's personal ideology is what led him to host the God Cube's power[6]. He believed that mankind has been a blight on the face of the earth, and wishes to see nature thrive without the presence of humans[7].
Through the creation of Serum Zero[8], the zombification formula synthesized from his time working at Oasis X Enterprise, Patient Zero was able to create prototype zombies. However, these zombies did not live up to desired results.
At some point, Patient Zero acquired a God Cube fragment, using it in Serum Zero to reach the desired results. Patient Zero tested the newly enhanced compounds on himself. The effects of the original formula were spread via the God Cube's corruption, transforming Patient Zero into a host, just like the many other zombies who were also infected from Serum Zero.
Fallen King
The Fallen King is the leader of Fallen. He and his people originate from Paradise.[9] His ultimate goal is the orchestration of his apocalypse,[10] which entails the total destruction of entire realms and their inhabitants.[11][12]
In the modern day, a Fallen Hazmat arrived to the kingdom, bearing a newly acquired God Cube fragment.[13] The Fallen King is presumed to empower himself with it; however, no visible mutations make themselves known in his gameplay debut. It is only after Hidden Wave is activated that the Fallen King has visible mutations on his body and likely becomes a host, as a mysterious entity awakens the king after he was seemingly defeated.
It is unknown why the Fallen King chose not to, or could not, use the God Cube fragment after its acquisition.
The Umbra
The Umbra was a former human who lived in a town called Eclipsed Village in the near past[14]. Her life was not a peaceful one, as she was wanted for witchcraft, subsequently being hunted down by the Executioner and the village knights.
Unlike other hosts, who absorbed only a portion of the God Cube's power through its smaller fragments, The Umbra received the God Cube's power when it was still whole. This was when the God Cube inexplicably manifested in the woods outside Eclipsed Village, luring The Umbra to it. Though, it was during her reception of its power that the God Cube was mysteriously shattered into its fragments.
Later in her life, The Umbra begins searching for the shattered God Cube fragments. She uses her forces of the Dark Sun to retrieve God Cube fragments in the overworld for her, such as when the Jack O' Bot attacked Nightmare Carnival, or when Lord Sinister attacked Trick or Threat Town.
Her hunger for the fragments led her to take more drastic measures of procuring them. In the Solar Eclipse Event, The Umbra attempted to engulf the entire population of the Overworld into the forces of Dark Sun,[15] supposedly to use humanity as slaves in search of God Cube shards across other realms.[16]
Penumbras
Penumbras, like The Umbra, was a former human that lived in Eclipsed Village in the near past;[14] he and The Umbra were close friends. Penumbras was a sorcerer, being able to manifest ghostly blue flames from his hands.
It is presumed that later in his life, when he and The Umbra escaped Eclipsed Village and became part of the Dark Sun, Penumbras supposedly partook in the God Cube's power like The Umbra,[17] being completely transformed by it.
Titus
Titus, or Titus Maximus, is one of the members the Children of Exo, and was the first cultist that the T.D.S. Organization fought against.
He first appears during the Hexscape Event, where he and the other Children of Exo attempt to open a portal to the Nil Zone using an "Artificial God Cube" as the power source for the portal. However, the plan fails and they get sucked into the Hex Realm.
When the Primordial Drakobloxxer was set free after the defeat of the Conserver, it unleashed an overwhelming volume of corrupted energy from the God Cube fragment it held on to. Titus was affected by the corrupted energy, being turned into a host.
Conserver
The Conserver is one of the many beings that reside within the Hex Realm. Given its title, the Conserver dedicated its existence to keeping either the Primordial Drakobloxxer, or the God Cube fragment it hosted, contained within the Hex Realm.
Upon the Conserver's defeat, the Primordial Drakobloxxer was unleashed, causing the Conserver to become corrupted by the energy given off by the God Cube fragment it hosted.
Primordial Drakobloxxer
The Primordial Drakobloxxer is a being that resided within the Hex Realm, being imprisoned there by the Conserver.
While the Primordial Drakobloxxer only seems to be holding onto the fragment, thereby designating it as a God Cube fragment owner instead of a host, the Primordial Drakobloxxer is considered to be a host because of how the Dispatcher describes it as infected by the fragments, similar to how corruption works.[18]
When the Conserver was defeated, the Primordial Drakobloxxer was released from whatever bonds it might have been held within, and in the process, it unleashed a metric ton of corrupted energy from the fragment it held.
It is unknown how the Primordial Drakobloxxer came in possession of a God Cube fragment, and why it chose not to entirely consume it. In gameplay, the Primordial Drakobloxxer's second phase caused it to adopt a purple color scheme, suggesting that it is becoming corrupted by the fragment. However, this second phase does not appear within cinematic material.
Haz3mn
Haz3mn is presumed to be the leader or governing force of the Pls Donate realm.
One day, as Haz3mn was walking through his realm, he stumbled upon a God Cube fragment. Curious about the mysterious artifact, Haz3mn touched it, transforming him into Corrupted Haz3mn.
Frost Spirit
The Frost Spirit, according to its Index entry, is one of the most powerful entities to exist in the Frost Realm.
During the Operation I.C.E Event, the Children of Exo ventured into the Frost Realm, entering the Frost Spirit's castle to awaken him from his chamber using a staff powered with a God Cube fragment.
Having been awakened, the Frost Spirit came out with visible neon purple veins or scars on its purple body, suggesting that either the Children of Exo corrupted him with their fragment, or it ran into a fragment in the past.
Owners
Certain characters and groups have acquired God Cube fragments, however, rather than getting corrupted by it, they took it with themselves and used it for various purposes. Most commonly, it is used either as a power source to fuel powerful machines, such as giant mechs or portals, or as a way to mind control other factions.
In rare cases, certain individuals after being corrupted by the God Cube took the fragment with themselves and continued using to make themselves even stronger. An example of this would be Primordial Drakobloxxer. Such cases are not included here, as this section only includes characters or groups who have not shown any signs of corruption but are (or were) in possession of a God Cube fragment.
Krampus
Krampus is a malevolent entity that has, on numerous occasion, terrorized the North Pole, and is a formidable opponent to Santa Claus.
After his initial defeat in the Christmas 2019 Event, Krampus managed to acquire a fragment of the God Cube. However, he was not fully corrupted into a host, as he did not consume the fragment. Rather, Krampus used the fragment in his staff to power his abilities.
Children of Exo
During the Hexscape Event, the Children of Exo created an "Artificial God Cube", similar enough to the real God Cube that could be used as a power source to open portals to other realms. The intent for it was to open a portal to the Nil Zone to establish a connection to Lord Exo.
The Children of Exo later come into possession of a real God Cube fragment after the T.D.S. Organization defeats the Primordial Drakobloxxer, taking it from the defeated beast. After acquiring this God Cube fragment, the Children of Exo begin Operation I.C.E, where they open a portal in Outpost 32 to the Frost Realm to awaken the Frost Spirit.
After the Operation I.C.E Event, the Children of Exo continued to collect more God Cube fragments, eventually collecting roughly half of them. This eventually leads to them fighting the Rift Walker, who has recently taken the other half of the fragments from the T.D.S. Organization. Both sides would fight for their fragments, but the Children of Exo would emerge victorious after getting help from the Narrator, allowing them to merge the two halves of the God Cube. Now with the full God Cube, they use it to absorb its power into the Rift Walker, so that his corrupted body can be used by the reborn Lord Exo.
Nerd Duck
The Nerd Duck, as he is referred to, is the son of Ducky D00M[20], and is the de facto leader of the ducks.
In the Ducky Revenge Event, the ducks were beginning to starve in the Duck Realm, as the portal inside the giant toilet was shut off, no longer bringing them food. The Nerd Duck, checking in on the portal once more, stumbled upon a God Cube fragment laying near it. He decided that it could be used for their benefit, and had another version of the Ducky D00M robot constructed, along with a bunny mech suit which was powered by the God Cube fragment in hopes to fight T.D.S. once more. But he was soon defeated by them, and later recruited to work with them by Professor V.
Now working with the T.D.S. Organization, the Nerd Duck began working with the Professor V on merging all of the God Cube fragments into one partial unified God Cube. During the merger, the fragments become unstable and start opening rifts to the Nil Zone.
Artificial God Cube
The Artificial God Cube is a device that was supposedly created by the Children of Exo, its power output is equivalent to one or multiple God Cube shards.
It was first used by the Children of Exo to power a portal to the Nil Zone, as they did possess any real God Cube fragments at the time. When the portal finished activation, it sucked the surrounding environment into it, including the Artificial God Cube. The portal did not lead to the Nil Zone, but instead the Hex Realm.
In the Hex Realm, the Conserver found the Artificial God Cube and kept it on his person until it was taken away from him by the T.D.S. Organization after he was defeated.
In the Operation I.C.E Event, the Artificial God Cube was used by the T.D.S. Organization to power the portal at Outpost 32, where it remains in their possession to this day.
Story
The storyline regarding the God Cube is very fragmented. Events listed before or after another do not give them a definitive place on the time line, and most ordering of events is arbitrary.
Old World
Thousands of Two X's strongest souls give up their souls as a sacrifice to create the God Cube. Two X then uses the God Cube to seal Lord Exo's soul inside.
A Dark Tale
In the near past, the God Cube appeared in the forest outside Eclipsed Village through unknown means. The Umbra takes on the power of the God Cube, becoming a host. The God Cube is destroyed in the process, shattering into various fragments across space and time[14].
At some point in Penumbras' life after A Dark Tale, he consumes a God Cube fragment and becomes a host.
Survival Bosses
At certain points, each one of the survival mode bosses comes into possession of a God Cube fragments.
- Patient Zero manages to acquire a God Cube fragment to use in his zombification formula. He tests the formula on himself, and is turned into a host[7].
- A servant of the Fallen Kingdom finds a God Cube fragment and returns it to the Fallen King. It is unknown what purpose the Fallen King used the fragment for prior to his awakening during the activation of the Hidden Wave[21].
- The Brute, Grave Digger and Molten Warlord each at some point come across a fragment which is later taken from them by the T.D.S. Organization.[22]
Krampus' Revenge
At some point in time between his initial defeat and reappearance, Krampus discovers a God Cube fragment. The fragment was then used to mind control Santa Claus' elves into serving Krampus himself.
Hexscape
When the Primordial Drakobloxxer was unleashed because of the Conserver's defeat in the Hex Realm, it released a vast amount of corrupted energy that was absorbed by Titus and the Conserver, transforming them into hosts. The Children of Exo steal the God Cube fragment from the Primordial Drakobloxxer after it was defeated.
Tower Defense Simulator x PLS DONATE
The T.D.S. Organization intervenes in the Pls Donate realm, trying to stop Corrupted Haz3mn from destroying the realm after he was corrupted into a host by a God Cube fragment.
Operation I.C.E
The Children of Exo used their God Cube fragment powered staff to awaken the Frost Spirit, commanding it to destroy the T.D.S. Organization at Outpost 32. The Frost Spirit was defeated by the T.D.S. Organization.
Ducky Revenge
A God Cube fragment is detected in the Duck Realm sometime after being placed there by Narrator.[23] Agents are dispatched for retrieval into the realm, but encounter the ducks using it for their dastardly machinations. The ducks are fought against, and the Nerd Duck is defeated, later being recruited to work with T.D.S. by Professor V.
Null & Void
Night 1
Professor V and the Nerd Duck work on "Project God Merger", which aims to unify all the fragments T.D.S. has collected into a unified source. When the project goes awry, the Rift Walker enters the Overworld and takes the partial God Cube away.
Night 3
The Rift Walker searches for the other half of the God Cube in the Nil Zone, where he meets and fights the Children of Exo. The Rift Walker loses, and the Children of Exo unify the God Cube, releasing Lord Exo from his ancient prison into the Rift Walker's body.
