Description
[edit]The Heights is the event map for the SFOTH Event. Like other event maps, this map has a specialized wave structure with special enemies. Players start with a varying amount of cash, based on how many players there are in a match. The rewards you receive are based on how many waves you survive and if you won the match. Triumphing this map rewards the player with the Gladiator tower.
Cash is only gained if an enemy is killed, or in some cases, damaged by a specific amount of health. Additionally, the amount gained is a set amount of cash, which is not always equal to the enemy's health. In solo, you receive 100% of the cash when an enemy was killed, or if it damaged enough. With each additional player, this decreases by 25%, which means that in a quad, you only get 25% of the cash. This amount is distributed between players based on how much damage they deal. However, if a player does not deal any damage, they will receive a percentage of the enemy's full cash upon its death or when it is damaged enough, which is 12.5% in duo, 16.7% in trio, and 18.75% on quad. If it is a decimal, it gets rounded up or down depending on the decimal value. If it is at least 0.5, it got rounded up. If it is less than 0.5, it got rounded down. For example, the PLACEHOLDER gave Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x after losing 25% of its health in solo, Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(3/4) in duo, Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(1/2) in trio, and Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(1/4) between the players that damaged it. Players that did not damage it receive Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(1/8) in duo, Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(167/1000) in trio, and Error creating thumbnail: File missing$x(3/16) in quad.
Health of enemies in this mode scales with player count. The increase is 10% more health in duo, 20% more health in trio, and 30% more in quad.
This map has the HP Locked modifier, which sets the base health to 100, the Farm Banned modifier, which prohibits Farms from generating cash, and the Gatling Gun Banned modifier, which removes the Gatling Gun from loadouts of players.
This map features two bosses, with Gladiator being the first and Swordmaster being the last.
Design & Path
[edit]The Heights is a battle arena-style map taking place above the clouds. There are many artificial pillars and walkways spanning over the map, with some walkways featuring obstacles. Multiple spawn points scattered across the map. Statues can be found in various spots around the map, all of which hold swords from Sword Fight on the Heights. Multiple portals can also be found on the map.
The path starts at a spawn point and ends at a portal, taking multiple turns around the pillars.
Interactive Map
[edit]Story
[edit]Swordmaster has conquered The Heights in search of Grandmaster Telamon's Necrobloxicon. Telamon, unable to successfully launch a retaking of his territory, sends out a distress signal to the Overworld where it reached the T.D.S. Organization. Agents were dispatched to The Heights to fight back against Swordmaster and reclaim Telamon's domain.
Rewards
[edit]The game calculates how many Error creating thumbnail: File missing EXP you receive based on how many waves you survive and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Error creating thumbnail: File missing EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Error creating thumbnail: File missing EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Error creating thumbnail: File missing EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive.
Rewards are calculated as:
| Coins Reward | EXP Reward |
|---|---|
| Error creating thumbnail: File missing 600 ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Error creating thumbnail: File missing 100 (Triumph Bonus) | Error creating thumbnail: File missing 150 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) |
Triumphing The Heights mode can give out an additional reward. These items are:
- Common (47.39%)
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing Time Scale Ticket (2-4)
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing Revive Ticket (2-3)
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing Spin Ticket (2-3)

Wave Structure
[edit]The Heights' wave bonus is calculated as:
- From Waves 1–11:
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing$500 + ([Waves Completed - 1] × Error creating thumbnail: File missing$150)^1.15
- From Waves 11–20:
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing$500 + ([Waves Completed - 1] × Error creating thumbnail: File missing$150)^1.2
- From Wave 21:
- Error creating thumbnail: File missing$500 + ([Waves Completed - 1] × Error creating thumbnail: File missing$150)^1.25
Depending on player count, the wave bonus was reduced using multipliers. These multipliers are:
| Players | Reduction per Player | Total Reduction |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 0% | 0% |
| Duo | 3% | 6% |
| Trio | 3% | 9% |
| Quad | 3% | 12% |
The waves in The Heights cannot be skipped.
| Waves | Wave Timer |
|---|---|
| 1-4 | 0:40 |
| 5-9 | 1:00 |
| 10-12 | 1:15 |
| 13 | 1:30 |
| 14-15 | 1:15 |
| 16-19 | 1:30 |
| 20-23 | 1:45 |
| 24-25 | ∞ |
Bolded names indicate an enemy type's debut.
Strategy
[edit]- Space, in general, is at a premium on this map. There are relatively few ground spots on this map, most of them being away from the path.
- Because of this, towers with larger placement footprints, like the Turret may not be that useful here.
- However, there is a lot of cliff spots on this map, making it optimal for towers like the Ranger. Due to their high range, they are also not as affected by placement spots being away from the path.
- The Military Base can be quite useful on this map as its units can attack enemies from the opposite side of the map.
- If you need to use spawner towers in general, make sure that these towers are on the pillar near the end of the map.
- Short-ranged towers, like the Slasher or Assassin, should not be used on this map given the distance between ground spots and the path.
- Due to the separation of cliff and ground towers, it may be hard to boost cliff towers with only one DJ Booth or Commander.
Trivia
[edit]- Upon the Gladiator's defeat, he will not disappear unlike other enemies. Instead, he will lay face-down on the path until the game ends.
- To be awarded with the "Emancipate" badge, the player will have to leave the Gladiator alive one 1 HP until it reaches the end of the path.
