Rewards

The game calculates how many Coin Coins, Gem Gems and Experience EXP you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Experience EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular Experience EXP boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Difficulty reward scaling for survival mode Coins and Exp is 1x.
Mode Coins/Gem Reward EXP Reward
Easy Coin 250 ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 50 (Triumph Only) Experience 50 EXP ÷ (1 + [(20 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])
Casual Coin 350 ÷ (1 + [(30 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only) Experience 75 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) + Experience 15 EXP (Triumph Only)
Intermediate Coin 500 ÷ (1 + [(30 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only) Experience 120 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])
Molten Coin 550 ÷ (1 + [(35 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^2.4) + Coin 400 (Triumph Only) Experience 135 EXP ÷ (1 + [(35 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^2) + Experience 50 EXP (Triumph Only)
Fallen Coin 700 ÷ (1 + [(40 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^2.4) + Coin 650 (Triumph Only) Experience 200 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^2) + Experience 50 EXP (Triumph Only)
Hidden Wave Gem 100 Experience 250 EXP

Strategy

  • This path takes fairly long detours around the chess pieces. This means that towers with long range, like the Turret, are recommended.
    • If you can find good spots to place them, the Pursuit and Ace Pilot can be quite useful on this map.
    • Because of the long detours, units, like the Railgun Tank, can shoot at enemies far ahead of it without the risk of it being destroyed.
  • You can place cliff towers on the chess pieces and cards.
    • Be aware of the little space to place cliff towers, especially in the middle of the map.
    • Some chess pieces do not allow for cliff towers to be placed on them.
    • To allow cliff towers to reach the entire map, the DJ Booth is recommended.

Trivia

  • Before being remade in the MEGA Update, Chess Board was one of the longest in the game.
    • After being remade in the MEGA Update, Chess Board was one of the shortest in the game, only being beaten by maps such as Badlands.
  • After being remade in the MEGA Update, Chess Board was the first map where some of the corners were not perpendicular to each other.
  • While Chess Board was remade in the MEGA Update, it was mostly remade to reduce the size of the map. This was unlike some other maps which received a completely makeover.
  • The size of the first two versions of the chess board on this map was 10x10 squares. However, a chess board size in real life should be 8x8 squares.
    • The chess board size currently on this map is 8x8 squares, identical to real life.
  • Every chess piece on the map represents a real life chess piece.
  • In this position white is winning the game
