Summary
The Golden Crook is a unit spawned by the Golden Crook Boss at Level 2. The Golden Crook is essentially a re-skin of the removed Crook, with the additional buffs of one more damage and more speed. Like other units, it starts from the end of the map path and moves towards the entrance of the map. The Golden Crook has a spawnrate of 60 seconds.
Whenever there is an enemy in its range, the Golden Crook will stop moving to shoot at the enemy. It will continue walking when there are no enemies left in its range.
Appearance
The Golden Crook has tan skin, black pants, dark grey shoes, yellow torso with black and yellow stripes, and yellow sleeves. It has a smile face. It wears a yellow beanie. It carries a golden UZI in its right hand to shoot at enemies. Yellow sparkles come out from its UZI.
The original Golden Crook had yellow skin, black legs, yellow torso with black and yellow stripes, yellow sleeves, and a mischievous face. It wore a yellow and black striped headband. Yellow sparkles came out from its headband and a golden aura came out of its torso. It carried a golden UZI to shoot at enemies.
Strategy
- You should not rely too much on Golden Crooks because of their slow spawnrate.
- The Golden Crook cannot detect hidden enemies, but they can still be damaged when the Golden Crook collides with them. However, this is likely unfavorable as the Crook's main source of damage is ranged.
- The Ace Pilot cannot give the Golden Crook hidden detection.
- On two-pathed maps, only one Golden Crook will spawn per Level 2 Golden Crook Boss. It will go down a random path.
- The Golden Crook cannot collide with ghost enemies, like the Soul.
- The Golden Crook will struggle against fast enemies like the Error or Glitch, as they can run into Golden Crooks without taking much damage.
- The Golden Crook is not affected by any buffs given by other towers, like the Commander, whether the Golden Crook is in the range of a tower that grants a buff or if the Crook Boss is in the range of a tower that grants a buff.
- The Golden Crook will struggle against any enemy with abilities that damage units, as their health is lower than any amount of damage that these enemies deal.
- For example, if the Fallen King uses its Stomp attack, and a Golden Crook is caught in the attack, it is instantly killed.
Trivia
- Only the Golden Crook Boss spawns Golden Crooks instead of Body Guard/Body Guards 1.
- All the other skins for the Crook Boss, including the former Platinum skin, spawn the regular Body Guard/Body Guards 1.
- The Golden Crook is based on the Mafia City meme.
- The original Golden Crook death sound was the same death sound that Roblox uses.
- Interestingly, the Golden Crook has more DPS than the Level 2 Golden Crook Boss itself.
