The Crook Boss has twenty six skins in total. This includes:

  1. The Default skin.
  2. Fifteen skins that can be unlocked from Crates.
  3. One skin that can only be unlocked from the Daily Skin Store.

  5. Two skins that can be unlocked from both Crates and Passes.

  • The Crook, Mafia, Golden Crook and Golden Mafia did not have a funny face during April Fools 2020, even though they have regular humanoid faces.
  • The Checker skin was made by PixBlook.
  • Prior to the MEGA Update, the Crook Boss would play an unique effect when upgraded, the Crook Boss would shine for a brief moment, while shining particles would appear around it.
    • This is a reference to the Mafia City meme, where the characters in the advertisements would have a similar effect when their level increases.
  • The Level 2 upgrade icon shows the Crook Boss wielding a Micro UZI.
    • The Level 2, 4 and 5 upgrade icons show the appearance of the first version of the Default skin.
    • The first and second versions of the Level 5 Golden, Demon and Xmas skins, and the former Platinum skin, used a re-textured version of it.
  • The Platinum skin for the Crook Boss was the only Platinum skin that was in the game after the Overhaul Update, though this skin was disabled on the 23rd of November 2020.
    • Before the Frost Invasion Update, the skin remained in your inventory. However, it was replaced with the Default skin. Additionally, you could not place it down.
    • After the Frost Invasion Update, the Platinum skin for the Crook Boss was completely removed.
  • The Frost Invasion Update version of the Crook Boss was originally meant to have a different animation at Level 4, however, this was not added.
  • The Red and Blue skin in the lobby used its old appearance with its face changed, instead of its current appearance for a long period of time. This was fixed on the 4th of February 2023.
  • The book on the back of the Level 4 Necromancer skin is based on the Necronomicon Ex Mortis.
  • The Corso skin is based on CORSO.
  • The The Blue Head Mafia badge on the Corso skin is a reference to a discord server of the same name owned by CORSO.
  • The DRKSHDW skin is based on the fashion line of the same name.
  • The headwear on the DRKSHDW skin's first and second Level is based on one of Ye (frequently known as Kanye West)'s masks featured on his 2013/14 Yeezus tour.
  • The Soviet skin is based on the uniforms of the Red Army during World War II.
  • The chestplate that the Soviet skin wears from Level 1-4 appears to be based on the Stalnoi Nagrudnik (Steel breastplate), which was used by assault engineers and sappers of the Red Army during World War II.
  • The Game Master skin is based on the Front Man from Squid Game.
    • Its units are based on the Pink Guards from the same show.
  • The Alien Focus skin is based on the Locked In Alien meme.
    • Its units are based on the two agents asking the alien “What is the next step of the operation?” from the same meme.
  • The Victorian skin is a submission made by Null_5D.
  • The Narrator skin is a reference to the Narrator in many ways. References to the Narrator include:
    • Level 0, and to an extent the Levels 1-2 due to their human look are confirmed to be based on its Old World design.[1]
    • The Level 1-3 outfit is based on its appearance in the Lunar Overture Event. Although human at Level 1-2, it turns into a more faithful model at Level 3.
    • The Level 4 outfit is based on its appearance in The Final Act Event.
    • The Level 3-4 weapons are Lefty and Righty, the main bosses of the Lunar Overture Event and have appeared in multiple other events though not as separate enemies.
    • The projector it carries on its back is the Producer, more specifically the projector the Producer turns into upon death.
    • The goons it summons are based on the Actor1, Actor2 and Actor3, enemies first introduced in the Lunar Overture Event which since have been used in multiple other places and events to represent the Narrator's workers.
    • "Oh, it's 5:30, right on schedule!" is a reference to the second act of the Lunar Overture Event which in turn was referencing dialogue from the Halloween 2019 Event.
    • Multiple voicelines that play upon summoning units reference the Narrator's fourth wall breaking.
