Description
The Gladiator is an exclusive melee ground tower that could have been obtained by triumphing The Heights during the SFOTH Event, or paying Robux 599.
The Gladiator swings its sword in an arc, piercing through multiple enemies at once. At Level 2, it unlocks the War Cry ability; upon activation, it makes it attack much faster by giving it a Firerate Buff, allowing it to deal significantly more damage and deal with stronger threats. Additionally, it removes the Fatigue Debuff or Scared Debuff from the Gladiator. When activating the ability, the Gladiator will stop attacking enemies for 1.5 seconds. From Level 3, it also unlocks the passive ability Fire Aspect. Once the cooldown bar reaches 0, the next attack will inflict burn on an enemy, dealing damage over time for a short duration.
The Gladiator also has a unique passive ability where it can block stuns, such as attacks from the Frost Hero or the Fallen King. During the parry, it stops attacking enemies for 0.75 seconds. It cannot parry other types of attacks, like debuffs or freezes.
The Gladiator has hidden detection from Level 0 and lead detection from Level 3. It has no placement limit.

Strategy
- Due to the Gladiator's attack hitting up to ten enemies it can deal high amounts of damage to crowded groups of enemies.
- Since the Gladiator has a very short range, it should be placed at bends or turns on paths to maximize how much of the path it covers in its range.
- It should also be placed at the front to kill early-game enemies quickly.
- On maps with multiple lanes, it is recommended to place the Gladiator near intersecting paths, where enemies enter its range from multiple paths, allowing it to take out enemies from multiple paths at once.
- The Gladiator's swingrate can be decreased with the Commander, helping the Gladiator attack faster.
- The Gladiator's Warrior's Call, paired with the Commander's Call to Arms, can further decrease swingrate, causing the Gladiator to be able to attack very quickly. This can effectively handle fast and tough enemies.
- Do note that the Warrior's Call ability stops the Gladiator from attacking for a 1.5 seconds when activated. The ability should be used a few seconds before enemies enter the Gladiator's range.
- The Gladiator's Warrior's Call, paired with the Commander's Call to Arms, can further decrease swingrate, causing the Gladiator to be able to attack very quickly. This can effectively handle fast and tough enemies.
- Towers like the Freezer, Tesla or Sledger can be used to slow enemies down, giving more time for the Gladiator to attack them.
- The Gladiator's capability to hit more than one enemy makes it very efficient against groups of enemies, especially slow ones. Do note that it can only hit a limited number of enemies in one swing.
- The Gladiator struggles against fast enemies, such as the Bolt and Fallen Rusher, as most often will escape Gladiator's range very quickly.
- Additionally, singular high-health enemy like the Speedy Boss can easily pass through its range. On the other hand, groups of slow, tough enemies like the Slow Boss are optimal for the Gladiator as it can hit a decent number of enemies within its range.
- It may become feasible by setting up multiple Gladiators placed along the path to handle further, more of them.
- The Gladiator has hidden detection from Level 0 onwards, so it can deal with Hidden enemies very early on.
- On Level 3 or higher, the Gladiator gains lead detection, allowing it to handle Lead enemies, especially during early to mid-game.
- Because there is a delay where the Gladiator does not attack for a few seconds after performing the ability, it is useful to use the ability around a second before an enemy enters its range.
- The Gladiator has a small placement footprint, meaning that it can squeeze in beside other towers quite easily.
- On top of this, as it lacks a placement limit, it can be placed in high groups around a corner, which due to their high DPS and AOE allows them to clear out hordes of enemies quite easily.
Trivia
- When the Gladiator was first added, its upgrade stats were not displayed on its upgrade description. It was simply referred to as "sans sword".
- The Gladiator could have been seen in the second and third versions of Medieval Times farming in front of a house, supposedly on vacation.
- This was due to the fact that the Gladiator was unusable between the 13th of October 2019 and the 29th of November 2019.
- Attempting to place the Gladiator resulted in the following message being displayed: "Hey! I'm on vacation, don't bother me!".
- This Easter egg was still in the game, despite the Gladiator being usable again, though it would be removed on the 4th of February 2023 when Medieval Times was remade.
- This was due to the fact that the Gladiator was unusable between the 13th of October 2019 and the 29th of November 2019.
- Prior to the 29th of November 2019, the Gladiator had two abilities: Frenzy and Sharp Edge.
- Frenzy was the original name for Warrior's Call.
- Sharp Edge increased damage by 100% for 8 seconds, having a 60-second cooldown between each use.
- Prior to the MEGA Update and the Medic's addition to the game, the Gladiator was the only tower that was able to heal base health.
- At Level 5, the Gladiator healed +1 health per kill (for base health). This was, however, removed on the 29th of November 2019.
- The Gladiator used to have four main attacks after the 29th of November 2019. Each attack was chosen at random prior to the 26th of May 2020.
- The first one was a simple Sword Slash. This hit the least number of enemies.
- The second one was a Sword Spin. This made the Gladiator spin around 360 degrees, damaging any enemies in the said area.
- The third was the Piercing Lunge, which could be unlocked at Level 4. As the name suggests, the Gladiator lunged forward to deal damage to any enemy within range.
- The fourth was the Sharp Dash, which could be unlocked at Level 5. The Gladiator quickly dashed forward, and did an attack similar to the Piercing Lunge, but it affected more enemies as the range was increased. This affected the most enemies.
- This was the first event tower to be added to the game.
- Upon being hit by the Gladiator, enemies will emit blood particles.
- The v2.7.0 rework has went through a few mechanical changes before release which can be seen through various developer descriptions of its mechanics.
- The first is Blood Strike, an ability which based on it getting directly replaced by Fire Aspect in the Roblox event[19] was the early version of Fire Aspect, based on its name applying bleed rather than burn.
- The tower appears to have originally been able to support other towers through its War Cry, as such mechanic has been mentioned at many points by the developers.[20] Although the Gladiator can apply a buff to itself and cleanse some debuffs from itself, it is not able to buff other towers.
- The update log for v2.7.0 mentions that War Cry has a 50% boost to range.[21] However, in-game the Gladiator does not boost either its own range or the range of other towers, suggesting this also is an unused mechanic.
- War Cry uses a modified version of Fjord's Slash ability for its icon.
- The Fire Aspect passive ability name is a reference to a Minecraft enchantment of the same name.
