Description

The Gold Guard is a large guardian enemy exclusive to Golden mode, which is exclusive to Sandbox mode. The Gold Guard always spawns before the Gold Titan. Its main purpose is to protect the Gold Titan.

It can impale towers with its trident, stunning them for a brief period of time. It has Freeze Immunity, making it impossible to freeze and chill, and the Stun Immunity, making it impossible to knock back and making it only get slowed down by stuns.

Appearance

The Gold Guard is made entirely of gold, with a light yellow dominus, pauldrons and a trident. The pauldrons are skull-shaped and had glowing neon eyes. It also wears a light-yellow robe and has light yellow wings. The Gold Guard is faceless, and its head is glowing neon.

Strategy

  • Despite the common sense of taking the Gold Guards down first, they are not too much of a threat given their inferior attacks when compared to the Gold Titan. However, they will reach the exit first, so keep that in mind.
    • In any case, it is a good idea to take these down before all attacking towers switch to the Gold Titan.
  • Due to their high DPS, Pursuits, Rangers and Turrets are excellent options against these enemies.
    • Additionally, the Commander and DJ Booth can be used to boost the DPS of your towers.
  • The Medic's ability can cleanse towers stunned by Gold Guard.
  • Due to its immunities, it cannot be frozen, chilled or knocked back by towers, reducing the number of towers that can stall it.
    • Stunning towers will also only slow it down instead of stunning it.
