- "A long-range tower that can be placed on cliffs and deals heavy damage with a railgun."
- ―Store Description
Description
[edit | edit source]The Outlaw is a long-range tower that can be placed on cliffs. It can be purchased from the store for
4,500 when you reach Level 15. It wields an Barret 50 Cal. on Level 0-2, a Railgun on level 3-4 and a Laser rifle on level 5, wears telescopic glasses, and has a grey torso, grey shoes and brown pants. Its appearance is meant to resemble that of a space outlaw.
It deals high damage but lacks in firerate. It has a huge radius to make up for this, though. The Outlaw is also the most expensive tower to get to maximum level, exceeding even the Accelerator and Turret.
This is considered a mid to late game tower for harder difficulties due to its high unlock cost and high upgrade cost. This tower has a placement limit of 10 per player.

Strategy
[edit | edit source]- The Outlaw doesn't have hidden detection at any level.
- This means you need to use another tower to deal with hidden enemies, towers like Golden Minigunner should clear out Shadow Bosses or Ninjas easily.
- The Outlaws is a cliff tower, so the amount of Outlaws you can place will heavily vary on the map.
- Maps such as Autumn Falling and Fungi Forest have high amounts of cliff space, while maps like Dead Ahead and Grass Isle have only space for a few Outlaws.
- For this reason, it is recommended to research the map you are about to play to see if the Outlaw is ideal there.
- Maps such as Autumn Falling and Fungi Forest have high amounts of cliff space, while maps like Dead Ahead and Grass Isle have only space for a few Outlaws.
- There is currently a limit of 10 Outlaws per player.
- This shouldn't be too much of a problem as the Outlaw's upgrades are expensive, but those trying to activate the Hidden Wave may find it a hindrance.
- Outlaw, being a cliff tower, is immune to the stun of final bosses when they perform a Stomp move.
- However, other moves can stun Outlaws. This includes moves from the Tank, Templar, Fallen King and Nuclear Fallen King.
- The Outlaw is a very expensive tower. For this reason, bringing the Farm or Cowboy to upgrade the Outlaw to its maximum level is recommended.
- The DJ Booth can also be very useful in reducing upgrade costs for the Outlaw as well as increase its range massively.
- The Outlaw has a very low firerate. To remedy this, use the Commander to boost firerate.
- You can also use high firerate towers, such as the Minigunner to damage zombies while the Outlaws prepare to shoot between shots.
- To maximize the DPS of Outlaws, Strongest targeting is recommended for the Outlaw as this will always guarantee that the maximum amount of damage can be dealt with such a low firerate. However, be aware that low health zombies may bypass the Outlaw. Make sure you have towers set to First to deal with this.
- If you plan to use the Outlaw mid-game, especially to counter enemies like Fallens, it is recommended to upgrade multiple Outlaws to Level 2, due to their high DPS for this stage of the game.
- Beucase of Outlaw's high damage, it doesn't lose much damage when attacking high defense zombies, such as Templar or Giant Boss.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The original Default Level 5 upgrade gun is from another game, R2DA. It is known as the FATAL6 which only BelowNatural and R2DA's creator, PlaceRebuilder, have exclusive permission to use.
- Some Outlaw skins used to wield a laser rifle before it was changed to a Railgun.
- The upgrade icons of the Outlaw still show this laser rifle.
- The Outlaw's Level 4 cape is loosely based on Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.
- The Outlaw used to have a negative upgrade for an aspect of a tower.
- The Outlaw level 3 upgrade used to increase the firerate, but this was removed in the Hardcore update.
- The original Level 5 upgrade also used to decrease damage, but this was removed on the 10th of July 2019.
- The Cowboy used to have an negative upgrade which decreased it's damage, but this was removed in the Hardcore update.
- Prior to the MEGA Update, the Level 4+ Outlaw used to deal splash damage, dealing 50% splash damage to all towers within the impact radius. This meant that the targeted tower was dealt 150% of the quoted damage.
- The Outlaw's purple laser makes a unique "phut" sound when fired.
- The Outlaw currently has the highest total damage per firerate in the game.
- The Outlaw is loosely based on the Railgunner from Tower Battles.
