Description

The Sniper is one of the two starter towers obtained upon joining the game for the first time, along with the Scout. It is a long-ranged cliff tower with a slow firerate.

Its utility comes from its very long range, allowing the Sniper to target enemies from far away. It deals medium damage at a very slow firerate. Slower enemies are vulnerable to the Sniper for long periods of time due to the Sniper's range, but faster enemies may be able to bypass it. Because the Sniper is a cliff tower, it can detect Flying enemies. The Sniper can also damage lead enemies at Level 3+. It is immune to all stuns by default.

The Sniper is considered an early to mid-game tower. Later on during the game, the Sniper becomes less useful against strong enemies like the Slow Boss due to its middling damage output, or fast enemies like the Bolt due to their speed.

Strategy

  • The Sniper is effective early on during the game due to its cheap cost and long range.
    • Its earlier levels allow it to kill most enemies in one shot for a cheap price.
    • It can also be useful against Hidden enemies, as upgrading it to Level 2 is quite cheap.
  • The Sniper should not be relied on too much due to its slow firerate and overall low DPS. The slow firerate can result in you being easily overwhelmed later on in the game by hordes.
  • The Sniper has lower DPS than other starter towers, but to compensate, it has a relatively long range, so it can keep shooting enemies for a while.
    • You can pair this with the Commander so that it will shoot faster.
  • Later on in the game, to maximize damage, you should change the Sniper's targeting to Strongest, or replace them with stronger towers.
  • The DJ Booth can easily expand the range of the Sniper to cover most, if not all, of the map.
  • The Sniper can be used as a cheap way to deal with Flying enemies that appear early on during the game.
  • The Sniper is one of the few towers that can damage all enemies, no matter their immunities, when upgraded to Level 3+.
    • Despite it being able to damage all enemies, it is generally not worth using the Sniper late on during the game due to its low DPS and slow firerate.
