Description

[edit]

The Turret is an advanced tower with long range and high damage. It cannot be purchased from the store, instead unlocked at Level 50 or via its gamepass, priced at Robux 340. When the player reaches Level 50, the Turret can be claimed using the pop up message that appears when joining the lobby.

The Turret excels at single target damage, boasting a strong mix of high range, damage and firerate. However, it is also very expensive. It costs Error creating thumbnail: File missing$7,750 to place it down, the second most expensive starting cost for any tower. It takes a cumulative total of Error creating thumbnail: File missing$149,000 to reach the max level, making it the third most expensive tower to fully upgrade in the entire game. In PVP mode, it does have reduced placement and upgrade costs, but it is still one of the most expensive towers to fully upgrade there. As the Turret is not a humanoid tower, it is immune to debuffs which are applied by enemies added before the v1.9.0 update. Debuffs from enemies like the Boomer can still affect it. This however does not make it immune to stuns. Additionally, it has a larger placement footprint than most other towers. It can detect hidden enemies and has lead detection.

Because of its extremely high base cost and very expensive upgrade prices, as well as high DPS, the Turret is considered a mid-late game tower.

The Turret has a placement limit of three per player. This is increased to five in PVP mode.

Strategy

[edit]
  • The Turret has one of the most expensive starting costs for a tower, so it is impractical for the early-game.
    • For the early-game, using cheaper towers is recommended.
    • Using the Farm or Cowboy will allow you to place a Turret earlier, though, usually this is not recommended as there are better options than this.
  • The Turret has hidden detection by default and lead detection at Level 1, making it useful against enemies with these properties that may appear in the mid and late-game, especially in Hardcore mode.
  • The Turret has a larger placement footprint than other towers, so be aware of the space that it takes up.
  • It is highly recommended to pair the Turret with the DJ Booth to decrease the price of its extremely expensive upgrades.
    • It can also be helpful at increasing its already large range.
  • The Turret is immune to debuffs applied by legacy enemies. This includes the Soul Stealer's Fatigue Debuff or the Gunslinger's Scared Debuff. However, this does not include the Boomer or Necrotic Skeleton's debuffs as they do not apply an icon to the tower.
  • While the Turret does have a very high DPS, one of the highest in the entire game, it also has one of the lowest placement limits.
    • Due to this, towers without limits like the Minigunner, Golden Minigunner, Swarmer or Golden Soldier can, if enough are placed down, deal more DPS than it.
    • This is far less of an issue the more players there are in the match, as with player count the placement limit per player gets decreased, making towers with no limits far less viable while low placement limit towers like the Turret are completely unaffected.

Trivia

[edit]
  • Strangely, the Void Reaver can still spawn a Soul from the Turret, which is not a humanoid tower unless the XR500 skin is equipped.
    • The Soul Stealer cannot spawn a soul from the Turret unless it is the XR500 Turret. The Soul Stealer and legacy Fallen Soul also can only increase the firerate of the XR500 Turret, but not any other skins.
  • The Turret has a unique placement and upgrade sound.
