"The starter tower of the game."
―Store Description

Description

The Scout is one of two starter towers obtained upon joining the game for the first time, with the other being the Sniper.

The Scout is very cheap in comparison to other towers, meaning it can be placed right from the start of the game. However, the Scout has low DPS, even at higher levels, meaning it is not effective later on during the game. In PVP mode, it has far higher DPS than in regular modes, though it is still lower than most other options.

The Scout is considered an early-game tower due to its low cost and low overall damage.

Strategy

  • The Scout is mainly used as an early-game tower due to its cheap price and great cost efficiency compared to other towers.
    • After the Fallen Shield debut in Fallen mode, the Scout becomes weak against the enemies that spawn, mainly due to its minimal DPS.
  • Early on, placing down multiple Level 2 Scouts can be effective due to their cheap hidden detection, decent damage and acceptable firerate.
    • Later on, upgrading them to Level 3 or 4 is advised, as they are more cost efficient than previous levels.
  • The Scout has cheap hidden detection. Accordingly, the Scout can be used to defend against weaker Hidden enemies, like the Hidden and Molten Demon, while you can work on getting more expensive towers and upgrades.
    • Later on during the game, towers that deal more DPS, such as the Minigunner, are more efficient at dealing with stronger Hidden enemies like Hidden Bosses.
  • The Scout can be used as a cheap way to distract enemies, like Patient Zero, from using their abilities on superior towers, like the Turret.
    • This is only advised if you have brought the Scout to deal with the early waves. It is not advised to bring the Scout for the sole purpose of feigning abilities.
      • Additionally, if you have other towers that will contribute more to overall DPS, it is advised to maximize the placement limit for these towers before preparing feigning Scouts.
  • The DJ Booth is useful to increase the Scout's somewhat short range.
    • Due to the cheap placement cost of the Scout, it may be cost efficient to place multiple Scouts around the DJ Booth to use in conjunction with its Drop the Beat ability, on the green track, to generate cash.
