Revision as of 12:47, 12 February 2022
24 Karat has been removed from the game as of the 29th of October 2020.
24 Karat may still exist in the game's code, though it is no longer officially used in-game. This page has been preserved for historical purposes.

Description
The 24 Karat was a golden enemy that appeared in Golden mode (which is currently removed). It had slightly above average speed while having health comparable to that of the Slow Boss. Its main trait was the fact that it was immune to splash damage due to it being a golden enemy. This meant that any splash damage that came from a tower, such as the Rocketeer, was useless against this.
The 24 Karat could be spawned by the Gold Titan, and by the Mystery Boss upon its death in Golden mode, from wave 38 onwards.
Appearance
The second version of the 24 Karat had no face and was colored gold from the head to the legs. It was slightly larger than the Golden.
The 24 Karat wore a short-sleeved shirt and a gold necktie. The shirt and legs were a different shade of gold compared to its arms. It also wore a golden fedora.
The first version of the 24 Karat was nearly the same as the Golden, except that it wore a golden fedora. Additionally, the 24 Karat used the glass material. Its head and fedora were bright golden, while its torso and legs were a slightly darker of gold.
Strategy
- The 24 Karat is immune to splash damage. Towers that deal splash damage, like the Rocketeer, Mortar and Demoman, are useless against this enemy as they deal no damage.
- You can slow the 24 Karat down by using the Frost Blaster and Freezer.
- The Electroshocker can be used, but as the 24 Karat is immune to energy, it will make the shock time much shorter. The 24 Karat also does not come to a full stop.
- High DPS towers are recommended against this. Examples of this include the Minigunner, Ranger and Turret.
Trivia
- 24 Karat was a reference to 24 karat (or 24 carat) gold, which is 99.99% pure gold.
- This makes the metal very soft, meaning that it isn't stronger than lower karats of gold.
- Because of Mystery Boss, the 24 Karat could appear before its first wave appearance in Golden mode.
- Prior to the 24th of December 2019, most splash damage towers could damage 24 Karats, but only through direct damage.
